Pre-Ramadhan adhkaar will be rendered at al-Masjid al-Heetaam ("The Mosque of the Whales") in Jacaranda Road, Mount Pleasant, Hermanus, South Africa on Saturday, 8th August 2009. The group dhikr will be presented by the ’Ibaad-u-Ragmaan Qadiri Jamaa’ah and will, God Willing, start from after the Dhuhr Salaah. Proceedings should finish late in the afternoon. Haji Yusuf Moos of Hawston promises to serve a scrumptious meal after the dhikrullah.
The ’Ibaad-u-Ragmaan Qadiri Jamaa’ah recites along the method of Sayed ’Abd Al-Rahman al-Matebi al-Qadiri of Klein Constantia in the Cape. A fine qari, Sayed ’Abd Al-Rahman Matebi had rehearsed the Qadiriyyah as handed down from Sheikh Junayd bin Muhammad al-Baghdadi. Sheikh Junayd had given his allegiance to Sheikh al-Sari al-Saqati, who took bay’ah at the hands of Sheikh Ma''ruf al-Karkhi. Prominent in the Qadiriyyah silsilah and blessed with uprightness by the sack-full, they were some of the leading lights of Islam. Sheikh Ma''ruf al-Karkhi had established a spiritual connection with Sayed ''Ali al-Ridha, who owed his filial loyalty to Sayed Musa al-Kadhim. Sayed Musa al-Kadhim was the son of Sayed Ja''far al-Sadiq, who was the son of Sayed Muhammad al-Baqir. Sayed Muhammad al-Baqir was the son of Sayed ''Ali Zayn al-''Abidin. Sayed Zayn al-''Abidin was the son of Sayyidina al-Husayn ibn ''Ali ibn abu Talib. Sheikh Hasan al-Basri also, was linked to Sayyidina ''Ali ibn abu Talib. May Allah, The One Who Blots Out sins and Forgives again and again, excuse these holy persons their errors. Sayyidina ''Ali ibn abu Talib had pledged bay’ah with the Holy Prophet Muhammad (may Allah, The Most Perfect, Bless the Holy Prophet and Grant him Peace).
