TRIPOLI,
November 25 (WICS) - Within the context of taking
interest in youth issues, the World Islamic Call Society
(WICS) financed the third meet of Senegalese youth under
the slogan "Peace and Stability in Africa" in
September, 2004.
A
hundred participants from 30 Islamic youth
organizations, in addition to Sheikhs of Sufi sects and
Islamic societies, took part in the gathering.
The
gathering witnessed lectures on the role of youth in
achieving peace and security in Africa, violence and
extremism from an Islamic perspective, and women role in
guiding younger generations.
There
have also been discussion sessions on topics of interest
to youth organizations in Senegal.
The
Meet issued a concluding statement stressing African
youth reliance on the African Union as a tool to achieve
freedom and development in the black continent.
It
also emphasized the of implementing social, scientific
and educational programs, with the aim of protecting
Africa's youth from westernization and standing up to
projects of cultural invasion.
The
concluding statement also included executive proposals
on how to reach the goals.
