TRIPOLI,
November 25 (WICS) - In coordination with the religious
authorities of Belarusian Muslims, the World Islamic
Call Society (WICS) has supervised an educational summer
camp for Muslim youth in Belarus during August, 2004.
It
was held in Baslav area and attended by 79 participants,
males and females. The camp program focused on teaching
the basics of Islam, including teaching young campers
the Opening Surah of the Noble Qur'an, in addition to
some other short Suras (chapters).
Campers
also were made briefly aware of the Prophet's life, in
addition to teaching them on prayers in Islam; Friday
prayers, Eid prayers and funeral prayer. They were, in
addition, trained on how to act as imams or deliver
religious sermons.
