Dear questioner, thanks a lot for your question, which reflects your care to have a clear view of the teachings of Islam. Allah commands Muslims to refer to people of knowledge to become well acquainted with the teachings of Islam in all aspects of life.
First of all, removing unwanted hair from the body is an act of fitrah. Referring to this, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) is reported to have said “The fitrah is five things: circumcision, trimming the mustache, cutting the nails, plucking the armpit hairs, and shaving the pubic hairs” (Al-Bukhari and Muslim).
In Islam, we are certainly not allowed to expose ourselves before anyone except our lawful marriage partners.
So, if waxing the private parts is done by anyone other than one’s lawfully married partner, it shall be definitely considered as haram (forbidden). It should be done without exposing one’s private parts to another except one’s spouse.
In his response to your question, Sheikh Ahmad Kutty, a senior lecturer and Islamic scholar at the Islamic Institute of Toronto,Ontario, Canada, states:
If waxing your private parts is done by anyone other than your lawfully married partner, it shall be definitely considered as sinful and therefore haram; so never even contemplate such an activity.
In Islam, we are certainly not allowed to expose ourselves before anyone except our lawful marriage partners (husband in the case of a woman, and wife in the case of a man). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) “Guard your private parts except from your spouse.” The only exception to this rule is in case of a dire necessity like a medical treatment, and, mind you, waxing is never included in this category.
