Title

How the Qur’an Views the Israeli Security Fence

Question

Is there any significance for the Israeli security fence that is being built nowadays. Some people say that it is a sign of the ultimate fall of the Zionist State. Please shed more light on this from the Islamic perspective with special reference to Allah's Saying: "They will not fight against you in a body save in fortified villages or from behind walls. Their adversity among themselves is very great. Ye think of them as a whole whereas their hearts are divers. That is because they are a folk who have no sense." (Al-Hashr: 14)?

Answer

In The Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

All praise and thanks are due to Allah, and peace and blessings be upon His Messenger.

First of all, we would like to state that it is high time for Muslims to know their enemy and its relentless efforts that maliciously leave no stone unturned in an attempt to bring them an irreparable harm and utter misfortune. But with unity and strong faith in Allah, Muslims will pass through this critical situations, insha Allah.

In his response to the Sheikh Faysal Mawlawi, deputy chairman of the European Council for Fatwa and Research, states the following:

“The verse you referred to in the question makes it clear that cowardice is an innate nature of the Jews. They never dare to fight Muslims save by hiding themselves behind walls or inside fortified villages and lurkingly fighting from behind strong fences.

This becomes clear when we see the Jew’s concentrated focus on establishing settlements, which are no more than fortified residences.

Nowadays, they are building security fences to separate them from the people of the West Bank. This typifies what is mentioned about them in the Qur’anic verse you referred to.

The verse also refers to the fact that they (the Jews) are always shattered, torn with internal strife and differences. Though thought of as being one entity, they are torn from within. This really works in favor of Muslims since the more torn the Jews and the deeper their differences, the greater the chance for Muslims to gain victory and to laugh last.

I think keeping the resistance operations in full swing is one of the main elements that will keep them more and more in despair and ignominy. They themselves differ on how to face such courageous operations. Making this difference deeper, the spirit of unity among them will be weakened.

Our hope for Palestinian victory is great. It will never be dashed. Rather it is backed up by many verses of the Qur’an and many Hadiths that give glad tiding to the fact that victory is near and very close to Muslims, as long as they hold on to the Rope of Allah.”

Allah Almighty knows best.
