Answer

Wa`alykum as-salaamu wa rahmatullahi wa barakaatuh.

In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

All praise and thanks are due to Allah, and peace and blessings be upon His Messenger.

First of all, we'd like to show our appreciation for such a wonderful zeal you demonstrated here; this typifies the character of a Muslim who shows concern for the fate of his brethren in faith. May Almighty Allah reward you for this, and help you remain steadfast on the Right Path, Amen!

In fact, the reality of the Muslim Ummah is unfortunate. The grave mistake is the failure to practice the teachings of Islam correctly. After this comes the disunity. The third calamity is the abandonment of the modern means of advancement to which Muslims were directed by Allah: (Against them make ready your strength to the utmost of your power.) (Al-Anfal 8:60)

Most importantly, we have to clarify that Islam does not sanction waging war against the People of the Book as long as they don't stage aggression against Muslims or occupy their lands. But whenever any Muslim land is occupied by an enemy, just as the case with Palestine occupied by the Zionists who spread torture and violence on earth against the original inhabitants of the land, Muslims and Christians, rampaging through houses, raping women and killing innocent children, Jihad in this case becomes individual obligatory (Fard `Ain) for all Muslims living in the occupied land, as well as for Muslims very close to them, to restore the land from the enemy.

Many Hadiths gave glad tidings with the coming overwhelming victory, which the Muslims will achieve against the Zionists. When Allah wills something, He makes it easy to be achieved. In other words, when we Muslims are about to have our final battle against the Zionists, there will be a general trend of returning to the fold of Islam once again.

This actually occurred when the Crusaders ruled Jerusalem for about 90 years. It was when Allah Almighty willed it to be restored to Muslims that He assigned good people and just rulers who were aware of their religion, such as Nur Ad-Deen Mahmoud Ibn Zinki in the Levant and his successor Salah Ad-Deen Al-Ayyubi, with the task. So, the early Muslims succeeded in driving the Crusaders out of the Holy City, thanks to unity and spirit of brotherhood binding them together.

It is now our duty to nourish ourselves, our families and the surrounding society on the true teachings of Islam, so that we prepare ourselves for the establishment of the Muslim State and make the day of victory so near.

Because the Israelis will not allow us to arm the Palestinians, we Muslims, as individuals and communities, are bound to do our best in this respect. Allah says, (Allah puts no burden on any person beyond what He has given him.) (At-Talaq 65:7) We can offer many things to support our Palestinian brothers, including supplicating to Allah to help them: supplication is the shield of a believer.

We can support them financially, as every one of us is asked to offer whatever amount of money he can in this cause as a sign of solidarity with these oppressed people. Furthermore, we are to propagate their cause and make it known to everyone, especially as it is not the Palestinians' own cause: it is the cause of Islam. Since the Israelis teach their children songs such as “May I perish if I am to forget you, Jerusalem”, we must teach ours similar. This Holy city is the first Qiblah of Muslims, and its mosque is the third of the Holy Mosques and the place of the ascension of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, where he led all other Prophets in Prayer. This represents the starting point of the Ummah to shoulder the responsibility of leading the whole humanity to the true way of their Lord.

If we bear this in mind, we will be able to refute all claims of normalizing relations with the Zionists, championed by the media. In addition, our Muslim Ummah will become immune from being misled by fallacies or humiliated by enemies, until Allah’s promise, which is sure, comes true. The best way to gain this is by returning to our Lord and abiding by the teachings of our religion.

Hence, it is now clear that our first duty is to practice Islam completely. Once we succeed in this in our societies and families and, above all, ourselves, we are sure to gain victory. It is only then that we can say that we are going to defeat the Zionists, despite their weapons, for their power is nothing before Allah’s. Allah Almighty says, (Victory cometh only from Allah, the Mighty, the Wise.) (Al `Imran: 126)
