Dear Muslim brother, thanks a lot for your question. We appreciate the confidence you have in us and hope our efforts meet your expectations.
Really your question reflects the thoughts filling the minds of many, wondering what could be the goal pursued by the Palestinians in staging their resistance against the Israeli aggression. The goal is as clear as day. They would like to have their rights restored back. They would like to live like any ordinary citizen in the world, in peace and harmony. They would like to see an end to injustice, oppression, persecution, barbarism and vandalism.
So it's clear that their resistance does not materialize from vacuum and it's not a cause without purpose. Further, in the light of what we all see nowadays, the resistance does not make the Palestinians terrorists or violencemonger, as the West would have us believe. It's a well-known rule that for every action there must be a reaction. In the same vein, for every act of aggression there must be a resistance, and the resisting party is always in the defensive position.
This is further clarified in the following fatwa issued by Sheikh Faysal Mawlawi, Deputy Chairman of the European Council for Fatwa and Research:
The aims and objectives of Palestinians are no more than the aims of any people of the world. Their objective is to enjoy full freedom in their own land and to drive out the Zionist aggressors and to force them return to the countries they came from.
As for the issue of compromise or negotiations, this is something inevitable in all types of conflict among people. But for the Palestinians, their negotiation with the Israelis should be based on ending the occupation and aggression.
If this is the aim of the negotiations, then it will be an inevitable obligation. But, if there is any compromise on their part, aiming at acknowledging the Zionist usurpation of the land of Palestine or even part of it, then it is not legal from the Shari`ah point of view. Some Palestinians may negotiate with the Israelis but this will never solve the problem.
