From Behind My Wall

By  Selma A. Cook

Image
From behind my wall

I hear your call

I rest my chin upon the ledge

As I live my life on the edge

And all I see and all I do

Is sitting waiting watching you

You are my aim my dream come true

If only I could break away and start anew

My life is dull but yours is fine

You laugh you cry so different from mine

In problems you will get involved

Man's woes you seek a way to solve

I'm on the edge of life

When all around is strife

But they keep telling me

That this is piety
