Serving Humanity in Toronto

By  Youth 4 the Future Staff

Toronto is a cosmopolitan city with a network of parks, recreational, and cultural facilities. It is one of the world's most ethnically diverse cities; home to more than 80 ethnic communities from Africa, Asia, and Europe . It is also home to the Ansaar foundation. Their motto is, "The best of humanity is the one who serves humanity best."

Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him)). The Ansaar Foundation conducts fundraising and food and clothing distribution programs for the homeless. The Ansaar Foundation has caught the vision of serving the homeless of Toronto . There are numerous ideas in the planning stages, but the goal is to start a shelter in downtown Toronto . The first stage of this project is to provide food services and then grow into a full time shelter center. They are now organizing a walk for the homeless with funds going towards this homeless shelter to be placed in Thorncliffe park, a densely Muslim populated area. However, although this shelter will likely help Muslims more than other groups, it will give aid to people of all faiths.

The Ansaar foundation has weekly meetings at the North York Civic centre at 11am on Saturdays.
