Whose Summertime Blues?

By  Irfan

Image
All of a sudden, it seems to have stopped
Meaningless subjects for a meaningless world
Where meaningless adults
Promise that it could all work
If we only do what they have not learnt

Bahh!
Here I am again
Summer is here and so
Are the girls,
The boys, the hole in my pocket
The tricks and games to
A high on a lie
Same old story
Same old song

The things is
Where I want to be
Is not where my friends
Are at
On short-lived dreams
Well as for my parents
Who is to say
All I know is that I don't want to end up that way.
What I want is not quite clear,
But one thing for sure, no one wants to hear
About how I feel what is going on
And how much I want to belong
To a world that doesn't keep a poor person down
And where hope is a word that's not far from the
Cradle
But a place where a young person is not made to
Feel
Stupid
Sick or
Unable
To do the impossible

Put pen to paper and share your thoughts.
