"Food is our common ground, a universal experience." James Beard, an American chef and food writer once said.
We all have diverse cultures, forming different nations and living special traditions and customs. Yet, we all share one common language: food.
No wonder!
Each country has its own unique foods that, by one way or another, structure an angle of it's culture. African food has a unique taste different from that of Japanese food. Chinese food reflects some characteristics of China – as does Egyptian food reflects Egypt.
You may be asking about the topic we want to discuss by now. It is all about the food culture!
Using food as a tool to introduce the diversity of cultures, we started this discussion based around the theme of the cuisine. We want to be able to see and read about the history of each other’s food.
So here we go!! We only ask just three questions:
1-What kind of food do you usually like to eat?
2-Do you think your food is a part of your culture? Does food manage to highlight and narrate stories of your relationship with your country’s cuisine, origin of recipes, and etiquettes?
3- Do you discover common roots and heritage between your culture's food and that of other cultures?
