By  Jamal Turk

A huge number of British non-Muslim citizens had joined the picket.

On Saturday, March 8, 2008, at 4:00 p.m., hundreds of British citizens gathered for two hours in front of 10 Downing Street, the British prime minister's office, to call for the lifting of the siege of Gaza. The picket was organized jointly by the British Muslim Initiative, Palestine Solidarity Campaign, and Palestinian Forum in Britain. Click here to watch the photo gallery of the picket.

Although the event was organized by the Muslim community in London, a huge number of British non-Muslim citizens had joined to protest against the Israeli siege on Gaza.

This Saturday protest was one of a series of events that were organized in response to the Israeli siege on Gaza. The previous one was an emergency protest that took place at the Parliament Square on Wednesday, March 5, 2008.

Have you participated before in similar pickets? Do you think these pickets can make any change in the current situations?
