Former two-time prime minister and prominent opposition leader Benazir Bhutto, who had seemingly enough US backing and internal popular support to sweep into Pakistan's political life once again, was killed Thursday, Dec. 27, at an election rally in Rawalpindi, Pakistan.
She was identified as the country's main "liberal" leader who was calling for eliminating the role of religion in Pakistan as well as fighting the country's "Islamic extremism".
"There are multiple forces, which could be behind this tragedy," Talat Hussein, an Islamabad-based senior political analyst, told IslamOnline.net.
What do you think about the late former prime minister? And how do you read such an assassination?
