The Voice of HIV/AIDS

By  IOL Health & Science Staff

HIV/AIDS
In every corner of the world, millions of people live silently with HIV/AIDS. More millions carry the virus but do not know it. Some of those feel scared to go to the clinic to know whether they are HIV-positive or not. Decades of stigma, hate, and persecution have left their hearts filled with fear.

In IslamOnline.net (IOL), as part of our coverage of World AIDS Day 2007, we are giving those people a voice. We have listened to people living with HIV/AIDS from all over the world as they related their stories. They talked of their lives before and after knowing they are HIV-positive. They also talked about the problems they face on a daily basis.

Click on the links below to read their stories in their own voices.

This widget will help you to store, organize, search, and manage your favorite online content through a range of social bookmarking services. These services permit users to save links to websites that they want to remember and/or share. These bookmarks are usually public, but can be saved privately, shared only with specified people or groups, or shared only inside certain networks. Authorized people can usually view these bookmarks chronologically, by category or tags, or through a search engine. Most social bookmarking services also permit their users to vote and rank public bookmarks to determine which are the best ones according to the number of votes they get.
