Living the UK Floods

Tell Your Story

By  Health & Science Staff

floods
For the past week, many areas of the UK have been heavily flooded, bringing life to a screeching halt. The roads have been clogged for days and the power has gone out in tens of thousands of homes. Ironically, amid the floods, at least 350,000 people have been stranded without a drop of drinking water after the rising waters closed down local water treatment plants.

The flood comes in sharp contrast to the very hot, dry summer the UK had in 2006. Is this a sign of things to come due to climate change? Should this be expected every summer now? Or is this just a normal freak weather attack in a country known for strange weather?

Have you been affected by the floods or the lack of drinking water? Do you have stories to share about the effects of the rising waters in your area? We would like to hear your experiences. Post a comment below.

This widget will help you to store, organize, search, and manage your favorite online content through a range of social bookmarking services. These services permit users to save links to websites that they want to remember and/or share. These bookmarks are usually public, but can be saved privately, shared only with specified people or groups, or shared only inside certain networks. Authorized people can usually view these bookmarks chronologically, by category or tags, or through a search engine. Most social bookmarking services also permit their users to vote and rank public bookmarks to determine which are the best ones according to the number of votes they get.
