It was one Wednesday that I sent one of the boys, Irufaan (Class 7B), out of

the class. I asked all the students to stand, I saw him hitting the boy next to him. And so I asked him to meet the class teacher and he fled. After two or three days, he met one of my younger brothers in the mosque. He said to him that he is going to beat me. It seemed that he has got so many friends who are gang members, and they would carry out the task. My brother returned home andhe asked me to be careful and told me what happened at the mosque.

The next day, I just went to the class of Irufaan and I told him that I wanted to see him now. When he left the classroom, I asked him to hit me with his full power. He just kept quiet. He asked why I was asking him to hit me. I told him

because he said in front of many students that he was going to hit me because I sent him out of the class.

It was the last period. I went to Irufaan's class with a class teacher, and I had asked him to hit me in front of all the students. This student who had approached my younger brother in the mosque was keeping quiet, not uttering a word. There was a growing feeling of anger within myself, so I shouted at him for 10 to 20 minutes.

After some time, the class teacher let all the students go. And after they left, she said she did not even think that I would be so angry. She then told me that before shouting or reacting to the actions of the students, it is important to know about the student's background.

Irufaan was one of the students who did not get proper care from his parents.

Most of the time, his mother and father did not give him enough food and would make him stay out. Irufaan had spent half of Ramadan out on the streets. It was from the streets that he got his food and from some of his neighbors.

After that came my turning point. I realized that I had made a mistake by shouting at him in front of all the students, and I felt sorry for myself. From the moment I came to know about his true status, I was thinking of asking him to forgive me. I was even thinking of meeting him in the mosque and asking him to forgive me.

And yes, in sha' Allah I will do it. I will be friendly with him and I will share some stories about my life with him and I will collect more information about his life.
