Although I'm living in Canada now, I'm originally Lebanese. I really feel like I miss my country most when Ramadan starts every year, because there's a big difference between observing Ramadan in both countries.
People in Lebanon see Ramadan as a month where one has to spend more time with family and friends. Apart from going to work/school, one doesnt do much other than sit with family and concentrate on 3ibada.
People invite one another to iftars almost daily. You never find a single household having iftar alone, but with friends, family, neighbors.... After iftars, they usually all go to the town mosque for taraweeh... this is how it is for all of Ramadan. And then Eid is a big day for everyone and people get a week off work/school to just rest.
