Letter to the UN Security Council
“Help Not One Another Unto Sin And Transgression”

We, the undersigned, believe that the looming war on Iraq is an evil and oppressive war that aims at destruction and ruin, and will leave behind millions of homeless people and refugees, in addition to innumerable casualties and war-wounded.

All religions are against war, aggression and ruin:

“Thou shalt not kill” is one of the commandments God revealed to Moses. God also says in the Glorious Qur’an: “...if any one slew a person - unless it be for murder or for spreading mischief in the land - it would be as if he slew the whole people: and if any one saved a life, it would be as if he saved the life of the whole people”. (5: 32)

We do not support the tyranny and the injustice of the Iraqi regime, and we strongly object to it; yet, this does not in anyway permit the killing of innocent civilians and the destruction of a whole nation.

The Iraqi oil is the main reason behind the war. The world should not pay the price of greed and aggression. Let us unite and co-operate to stop this brutal campaign against Iraq.
