Question If I am taking a double room in Hajj, how should I conduct myself with my wife? Should we sleep on different beds, since intimate relations and kisses are not allowed?
Answer
In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

All praise and thanks are due to Allah, and peace and blessings be upon His Messenger.

It is best that you sleep in separate beds in case you are afraid of falling into temptations and thus end up committing breaches of the Ihram rules. As Muslims, we are to shun the doubtful, for those who do them may likely fall into doing that which is haram.

Allah Almighty knows best.

Question
If I am going to Makkah on the first of Dhulhijjah but our group leaves to Madina till the 5th of Dhulhijjah and then comes back to makkah. Should I do Tamatu' or Qiran hajj? In case of tamatu', do I need to do another Umrah when coming back from Madina, since I went out of the Haram or not necessary?
Answer
In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

All praise and thanks are due to Allah, and peace and blessings be upon His Messenger.

You have the choice of doing Tamattu' or Qiran in this case. If you happened to do Tamattu' and went out of Haram to Madinah, you may do intention to do another Umrah, although it is not absolutely necessary. You might as well make use of the opportunity to retrace the steps of the Prophet, peace be upon him, as he assumed Ihram from Dhul Huliafah while setting out for Hajj from Madinah in his farewell Hajj. I pray that Allah accepts your hajj and wash out your sins through it. Amen!

Allah Almighty knows best.

Question How do one perform Umrah another time? Do one have to go back to Jeddah airport?
Answer
In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

All praise and thanks are due to Allah, and peace and blessings be upon His Messenger.

If you wish to do another Umrah you may go outside Haram; usually they go to Tan'im or what is known as Masjid Ayishah which is close to Makkah and yet outside the boundary of haram. You may go there and assume Ihram from there and come back to Makkah. This is what the Prophet, peace be upon him, ordered his wife `Aishah, may Allah be pleased with her, to do in order to do Umrah while she was with him in his farewell Hajj.

Allah Almighty knows best.

Question Do I have to pay off all business debts before leaving for hajj, even Credit Card bills that would not be due before I come back?
Answer
In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

All praise and thanks are due to Allah, and peace and blessings be upon His Messenger.

You should pay off all outstanding debts that are due for payment. As for those bills that are not due but may be due in your absence, you ought to make arrangements for payment in your absence. As long as you have done so you may go for hajj.

Question
Does Islam allow korban (sacrifice) during `Eid Al-Adha which is done by 7 persons/individuals to be replaced by groups of associations?
Answer
In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

All praise and thanks are due to Allah, and peace and blessings be upon His Messenger.

If you mean whether we are allowed to entrust the task of doing the qurban or sacrifice to an association while specifically mentioning them that it must be done on behalf of so and so, and they do it with that intention, it is perfectly fine. The Prophet, peace be upon him, entrusted doing of sacrifice to companions like Ali. It is therefore fine to delegate it to others as long as the intention is clear.

Question What can one do to maximize the reward of hajj? Any tips on the best way to perform certain things over there?
Answer
In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

All praise and thanks are due to Allah, and peace and blessings be upon His Messenger.

This is indeed an important question. In order to derive maximum benefits from hajj, you may do well to observe the following:
1) Make sure to purify your intention before and while performing this great pillar of Islam to ensure that you are doing it solely to please Allah and respond to His call.
2) Arm yourself with sufficient knowledge about the formal aspects of Hajj as well as its inner meanings. This means you should study the authentic rules of fiqh as well as the spiritual aspects of Hajj. For the latter you may make use of the works such as Inner Dimensions of Islamic Worship by Imam Ghazali and Four Pillars by Mawlana Abu al-Hasan Ali Nadvi.
3) Prior to your journey, pay off your debts that are due, while also ensuring to seek pardon of those whom you may have offended; ask forgiveness of your parents and relatives, as well as your friends and others.
4) Find a suitable group of people to travel led by a pious scholar or knowledgeable person; a company who would remind you of your duties to Allah and help you do Hajj proper.
5) While in Hajj, arm yourselves with lots of patience and never allow yourself to lose your cool.
6) Do everything possible to help others and make things easy for them in every possible way. Speak good and act good towards others.
7) Engage in Dhikr and Du'a and reading of the Qur'an and avoid all idle talks and stay away from frivolities.
8) While doing the rituals of Hajj, observe not only their forms but seek to reflect on their inner meanings.
9) Inner meanings of hajj entail modeling ourselves on the great faith and sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim, trust in God as manifested in Ibrahim and Hagar, shunning temptations of Devil, reminding ourselves of standing before the Lord of the world, awareness of our sense of brotherhood and equality in front of Allah, and reminding ourselves of centering our lives around Allah, and ultimately of our journey to Allah.
10) Remember the Prophet's words, whoever performs a virtuous Hajj and have stayed away from lewdness and frivolities; will come home as pure as a newborn.
11) Never forget to implore Allah to help you keep the spirit of hajj alive all through your life.
Allah Almighty knows best.
