Professor Yusuf Progler, was born in New York City. He has taught Social Science and Education at Zayed University in Dubai, City University of New York, Columbia University, and the University at Buffalo. With a Ph.D. in American Studies, M.Phil. in Middle East Studies, M.A. in Humanities, and B.S. in Education, He is a scholar and a journalist, who writes on a wide range of topics in the Social Sciences and Education. He has written for the Journal of Islamic Thought and Culture, Journal of Culture and Education, Crescent International, Third World Resurgence, Holistic Education Review and Green Teacher.

Professor Yusuf Progler also manages the Multiversity Group (groups.msn.com/multiversity), which aims to question how people in the Third World have unthinkingly continued to follow - long after the imperial powers were expelled - knowledge systems imposed upon them by the West, and he is editor of the Radical Essentials Pamphlet Series, striving to introduce young learners to maverick works of constructive socio-cultural criticism from a variety of perspectives.

As co-creator of www.multiworld.org, he is dedicated to more effective learning opportunities that would respect freedom and ensure lives of individual dignity. Many people have become increasingly trapped in their minds and have lost the psychological and emotional tools to play a positive role in their own lives. Colonialism is not just geographical, but is psychological as well.
