Mr. El Mahboub Abdel Salam is the official spokesman for the Popular Congress Party of Sudan, a post he has held since 2001.
In February 2001, on behalf of the Popular Congress Party, he signed a memorandum of understanding between it and Dr. John Garang’s Sudan People’s Liberation Movement.
He is also an established writer on Sudanese politics, and has contributed extensively on Sudanese politics for both Sudanese and international newspapers and magazines.
Mr. Abdel Salam was the director of Dr. Hassan El Turabi’s office for a decade, from 1990 – 2000.
He also served as the General Secretary of the Foreign Information Council in Sudan from 1989 through to 1991.
