Abdurahman Alamoudi, the founder of the American Muslim Foundation (AMF) and the American Muslim Council (AMC), is currently the President of the AMF.

Since AMC’s inception in June 1990, Mr. Alamoudi has served as a Member of the Board of Directors and also as Executive Director for the past several years. AMC is a nonprofit organization serving the Muslim interests in the United States. It opposes discrimination against Muslims and other minorities. Its primary goal is to educate the Muslims to be an effective political force in America.

Under his leadership, each of these non-profit organizations has served the interests of the Muslim community in this country for nearly a decade. AMC has served as a resource for inter-organizational and cross-cultural cooperation.

Prior to founding the American Muslim Council and the American Muslim Foundation, Mr. Alamoudi worked as the Executive Assistant to the President of the SAAR Foundation. Among his other business activities, Mr. Alamoudi worked at the Northeast Regional Representative for Arabic Software Computers Inc., as Vice-President and Treasurer for Cambridge Computers and Instruments in Boston. He was also the regional representative for the Washington metropolitan area of the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA). Earlier, he served as Acting President of the Muslim Student’s Association of the United States and Canada.

Additionally, Mr. Alamoudi remains an active member of many organizations dedicated to promoting cooperation among different religious, ethnic, and political communities. Among them, he heads Muslims for a Better America and the American Task Force for Bosnia. He also sits on the advisory boards of a number of organizations including interfaith Impact for Justice and Peace, on the Board of The Council on National Interest Foundation, Mercy International, the Somali Relief Fund and the American Muslims for Jerusalem. He was the first exclusive endorsing agent for Muslim Chaplains for all branches of the US Armed Forces.

Mr. Alamoudi is a widely sought-after speaker for both political and religious affairs--nationally as well as locally. He appeared on national network program such as CNN’s Crossfire, discussing important issues dealing with Islam and Muslims in America. He is also frequently sought as a speaker, by USIA, to travel abroad fostering communication and cooperation across many countries and diverse cultures

Mr. Alamoudi holds a Master’s Degree in business administration from Southeaster University and Bachelor of Science in pharmacy from Cairo University.

Mr. Alamoudi is married and has three children.
