Dr. Walid Saleh is the UN University Regional Coordinator for the Middle East and North Africa: International Network on Water, Environment and Health (INWEH).

With a Ph.D. in Water Resource Engineering from Concordia University, Montreal, Canada, he lived in Basra, Iraq, where he obtained his Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering.

Major Projects included:

- Beach quality, Gaza Strip

- Environmental impact assessment of groundwater in Gaza, Palestine.

- Groundwater nitrate pollution, Syria.

- Integrated watershed management, Jordan-Palestine.

- Rural environmental development, Palestine.

Others related to coastal zone management and industrial waste management in addition to attending several international conferences.
