Sister Nizma Agustjik, a social worker in the United Kingdom and the mother of two children, is the founder and chairperson of Indonesian Children’s Relief.

After many visits to the troubled islands of Indonesia, Sister Nizma and a group of friends from the United Kingdom, who were moved by the lack of help reaching the children of refugees, founded this organization in January 2002.

Indonesian Children’s Relief is a charity that focuses on the deprived children of Indonesia, whose needs are largely ignored. All the people involved in the organization are volunteers and all money for orphan sponsorship goes directly to the children in need.

Indonesian Children’s Relief works with three local NGOs in Indonesia including PKPU, Nurul Hasan Foundation, and As-Salam Foundation to cater to the orphans there and develop schemes to meet their needs.

Sister Nizma established an ongoing Islamic study circle for Indonesian students in the United Kingdom in 1995. She is also a founding member and committee member of City Circle, which has been operating since 1999. She has volunteered to do fundraising for Islamic Relief and Muslim Aid. She also visited Bosnia independently and brought aid to the Muslims there.

Sister Nizma is an inspirational, self-motivated, extremely active person who leaves no stone unturned in seeking the welfare of the downtrodden, unfortunate people within her reach. She once went around the community asking people to spare their pennies for the Indonesian orphans, and in doing so she raised £6,000!
