Question

We Muslims whether we are sunis or Shi'ate miss last twenty years a muslim leader who can make our vision which is to delete israel from the middle east where the egg of the islam lies, isn't it's to support president Najad or we wait israel's will which is to erase muslims from the middle east? what is view My Brother Muslim?

Answer
I think that the President's idea to delete Israel or move it to Europe or the US relies basically on theoretical prinicples regarding fairness in international relations. This idea is a good one but lacks objectivity because it makes history go back which is not possible so we have to cope with developments. if we should think in a radical way we have to balance between this way of thinkning and reality and suggest solutions that could be applicable. what he suggested is ideal but not applicable. But It is enough that he expressed a deep thought in Muslims in general and palestinians in particular .

Question
AAWW.

Thanks alot for giving us your time:
My questions is about the statement of president of IRAN about Israel. Were these a calculated statements ?
And what was the signals he was going to send, if any ?

Thanks a lot again.
rgds
Answer

I think that his speech expresses the Iranian permanent radical strategy. He has space to decide the way that suits him and his team. so I believe that his words are calculated because it has basics inside the shia thoughts and ideas and the beliefs of "Wlayet al Faqih" and also relies on hoistorical and contemporary world. his statement about a world without zionism is taken from Ayat Ulah Khmeni. His speech about holocaust relies on studies that concided that it might has no real foundaiton and zionist only exgerrates to mkae it a weapon to use in their war. There are other sprate accidents zionists have also used to make a legend about their past and achieve their goals through the west and capture palestine. Hence his speech has historical basis and in UN charters and internationl relations with eqaulity in these ralations. The question remains , is there a message behind his speech. of course there are messages one of which is directed to paletinians that Iran will not give their case up or their rights. the second goes to Syria that Iran still supports it and tries its best to distract the west to another issue to decrease pressure on Syria . the third is directed to US to go back to negotiations with Iran so that It would not head towards an aggressive way to deal with international issues. the last goes to israel and it says the Iran is not scared of Israel on the contrary Israel has to be cautious in dealing with Iran.

Question
Does Iranian policy designed to shift the US focus on its nuclear program ? and is this policy well planned or just a personal attitude of Ahmadinjad ?

Answer
I agree with you, there is an intention to attract the US to the Iranian nuclear project to participate in it. this is beneficial for both parties, Iran gains what it wants and Syria gets out of the international pressure. This means that the policy is well planned to avoid any drops. It might as well be better than other countries' policies which did not achieve Iran's success although they don't suffer form any pressure.

Question

The only positive thing about Ahmedinejad being President is that he is not an Ayahtollah or a Shia Scholar.
He is a lay person,
although he is politically immature with no understanding of statecraft, realpolitik, international relations or diplomacy.
Iran has been economically, diplomatically, politically isolated since 1979.
Iran needs to come out of isolation in order for it to have economic investment in Oil & Natural Gas sectors, to create jobs as well as come out of international isolation. I think he is a fool for some of his irresponsible & counter-productive statements in relation to Israel.
Even if he thinks the Holocaust was a 'myth' or that Israel should be 'wiped of the map'or that Israel shoould be moved to Europe, there is no need for him to say it in public. The majority of Muslims would agree, if not, then sympathesize with these sentiments but he should keep these thoughts private as he is now President of Iran who has to negotiate with EU over allegations that Iran's nuclear programme is for building Nuclaer Bomb & not for Civil peaceful purposes.
He is giving United Staes & Israel the perfect excuse to presure EU & UN especially China & Russia to put UN Sanctions on Iran which make things worse for the people economically and further isolate Iran internationally.

Answer
May be we agree with you in part of what you said about how Iran should pay more attention to Economic status and development and this requires stability whether internationally or locally or with neighbor countries. But we disagree with you concerning your ideas about the President because it did not deal with the real political statement of the President. First because he was able to win the Iranian people hearts so they chose him despite the presence of other experienced politicians because he feels them. His post as a governer was enough proof for them that he can lead the coutry in the same way that they missed and hence achieve stability and security for thepoor.they were right about him, he doesn't make the ministerial meeting in the capital but in each governorate every time, very reactive and active which makes them support him. socondly he was able to win the respect and appreciation of the prominent figures for his committment and ability to ahcieve their goals, thirdly he is not the one who makes final decissions but there is an office dedicated for that and has ALi akbar Wlayaty, prominent politicain, and other experienced poltiticans like Motakki, this offcie has a research center that investigates the foreign policy in vision of the general system requirements. if his speech sounds exaggerated, this is deliberate and meant in order to move the stagnant water around Iran. the EU almost stopped negotiations with Iran regarding the weapons file. as well as the increasing US interest in Iraq, this attracts the powers to Iran again and later on Iran absorbs the reaction resulting from such speeches after being the center of attention again.

Question

Assalamu alykum

How do you evaluate the Iranian political discource towards the West in terms of the firece statments by Ahmedinijad concerning the Holocaust ?

Answer
The Iranian policy towards the West is a bit complicated as it balances the nature of the ruling system and the interests that the leader is trying to achieve regionally and internationally. That is why it moves between ideology and interest. If the Iranian ways seem a bit weird, it has achieved succes in many aspects, Iran has not stoppped negotiations with the EU and did not enable the US to move th Iranian nuclear file to the Security council and is still going on with it dedicating all circumstances to its best interest. The policy achieves many goals despite being not accepted from many parties.

Question
The Iranian president express the conservative trend and it gains a public support in iran and other islamic nations... So, does the conservative policy fit with the radical trend of Israel and the US-led attack on the Islamic thought and policies?

Answer
I think that the conservative wing that was able to handle all authorities in Iran has changed its ways and beliefs and balances between conservatism and radicalism, this was accepted from the people because it is a more effective way in solving different problems. The way analyses problems and issues and builds results and conclusions on that analysis. The succes is clear and supported localy and never representd and obstacle in Iran's relations with the outside world and this was clear in Saudi Arabia Islamic summit. It is also clear in Iran's capability to solve its problems with its enemies and the way it presents different issues to the world epsecially terrorism, development...etc...The biggest proof is the president's speech at the UN.

Question
Is Mr. Ahmedinajad effectively displaying his lack appropriate exposure to international relations and/or relative lack of experience in national politics?

Answer
I asure that the President is not the policy maker there. There is a dedicated group for this. He does not express his own beliefs but chooses the way that best expresses Iran's strategy in foreign policy. Iran's system is revolutionary and uses the shock system to achieve its goals and then absorbs reactions to its best interest and this has effectively helped Iran witohut being exposed to any danger. We have not seen any positive move against him after his speech. on the contrary, we saw positive reactions towards him whether from the Islamic countries or the west that offered to go back to negotiations to absorb Iran's revolutionary enthusiasm.

Question

As-salamu Aleikum Wr. Wb. Sheik, Is it correct, from Islamic viewpoint, to push for a total ban on all types of neuclear weaponery. That it will be Haram to possess such types of weapon for all types of defense reasons. Is it not important for the OIC in particular to develop a commomn policy & agenda along this line and push for it in the wider world community rather than leave such important issues to individual middle-east countries, like Iran, to be required to disharm when a hostile middle-east country like Israel continues to develop such neuclear technology and weapons without any type of hinderance.
Answer
First, I think that nuclear weapon is owned for security reasons not using it, so I tihnk it is not Haram for Islamic countries to own it. Islamic coutnries believe that it is important to ban such weapons because it does not only need a lot of money but it also harms other countries. Islamic countries situation has to be collective and it is essential that such countries agree about that. Their capabilities differ though, we have to keep in mind that each country has a special capacity and capability so there has to be an agreement about using these weapons in an Islamic way without harming other people.

Shalom
is Ahmadi najad muslim? I read to many sunni muslim who call him kiffer. explain this part please? why the people who curse the Prophet Mohammad's wives are not muslime? and thank you.

Answer

Yes he is, We want to explain to you that muslims are divided into 2 big groups, the bigger is the Sunna, and the other is shia who originated as opposing to Sunna. The disagreement developed to the extent of taking religious reasons to defend political beliefs, and calling each other Kaffir. The Iran president is Shia, he is a radical one and so some Sunni see him as an opponant and describe him as a Kaffir, but in reality this is not all of the Sunna opinion, moderate ones know that shia and Ahmadi is one of them, are Muslims, and Brothers in
Isalm but have a different way of applying Islam and handling issues because they use their minds more than Quran and Hadith, they also believe their Iamam more than they do with Prophet's friends and Sahaba, as they doubt some of these Sahaba and see them as manipulators of history and that's why some of them Curse the prohpet's wive"A'esha" because of what happend in ALGamal, fight. please read about it in other religious books>

Question
Salam to all,

I have read somewhere that the courage behind the iranian president call for israel to be wipped out of the map, is China/Russia support for Iran. What do you think? Are we expecting a third world war? Thanks

Answer
I think that Iran was able to make good relations with powerful countries on the international level like china and Japan despite its loyalty to the US. But this is not the only bench for Iran because it has other alternatives to rely on, the first of which is Shia who are everywhere epsecially in the Middle East and they represent a great mean of protection, there are also groups of countries who have common interests with Iran like Latin American Countries and west Asia. Iran also tries to use the OIC countries as ally, . But the main defense mechanism is the Human resources factor which makes penetration very difficult especially for the EU and the US and also the natural and financial resources (Uranium, metals...) as well as geographical factor which contributes to protection and establishing hidden Nuclear energy plantations which were not detected by Satellites unless Iran leaks information about them to make its enemies feel that it has power to face any enemy. Iran does not seek any wars or violence but only seeks its interests and benefits and does not escalate any violence which is very different from Saddam's system in Iraq. It never gives the excuse to any existing power to enable it to occupy the country or change the system.

Question
Could you mention the West's concerns from the Iranian new president Ahmedinijad?

Answer
I think that the west is mainly concerned about the discretion in the President's moves. His beliefs are considered different to them, he is a religious Shia and his beliefs give him power to say such speeches. Satellites owned by the west could not discover what is going on in Iran clearly because of the nature of Iran and the Iranians, this was expressed by Bush when he said he does not trust the Irani leaders because they deal with "Takkia" which is expressing different than what you hide and intend to do. This bothers the west to a great extent because they don't have theories or ways to enable them to deal with such ideas. Secondly comes the Iranian policy, which is not repeated, it is changable according to the circumstances which creates uncertainty in reading their moves so the west can never foretell the next step that Iran will take. Also Iran's nuclear weapons worries the West about how Iran can act or use this weapon unlike Israel, that the west does not fear. The other thing is that the President has no political history to study and be able to comprehend his thoughts which makes it very difficult and timely to study it.

Question
Ahmadi Najad is trying to get Iran's benefits thru threatening the Arab oil. why not investing in changing the Iranian Utopian mentality before the things get out from control like what happened in Iraq?
Answer

I think that the first part of your opinion is true, achieving goals, regardles of the way. cultural development and reform is not a personal thing. The system established the high council of cultuural revolution to return to the origins of their culture but he can not change the whole people's culture alone but only push the application of certain cultural programs, the poriroty of which goes to establishing a religious but modern and contemporaty style relying on high technolgy and science. They rely on using their minds without making religious thougth an obstacle or reason to hinder it.

If Iran is attacked, it is the end of Israel and zionism in the world..

www.whatreallyhappened.com
Answer
It is very early to judge but of course Iran's power in its opposing speech relies on capabilities that enable Iran to reply to any aciton taken by Israel, but we have to keep in mind that Isarel is not alone and has the US and the west beside it. Iran knows this and is aware of it and despite its attack on Israel, it only stands as a warner not a fighter because it knows that it will experience a grat loss that it can't bear in the time being.

Question
Putin's words 'Russia will protect islamic world' explains president of iran words anti israel remarks.

Answer
As we mentioned before, we don't agree with this because Iran has problems with Russia, benifiting from Bushihr nuclear establishment, minorities, etc. So relations are mainly ruled by interests and can stip in a second if there is no interest.Iran has differences with Russia. Politically, socailly and culturally they are very different as well. Economically, Iran knows that it pays Russia more than what it benifits from it. If Iran can find another source to achieve its goals it will direct itself to it like china or Japan, even the US which in case it agrees to cooperate with Iran the relations with Russia will completely change.

Question
SALAM ALEIKUM
Sir,MAHMOUD AHMEDNIJAD is one of those new generation islamic leaders that the whole islamic world looks upto. Why are the ARAB governments not coming out strongly in support of IRAN and secondly, is the public opinion in ARAB nations as supportive of iran as in say INDIA or MALAYSIA?

Answer
I think that the Arab countries do not support the Irani President despite all his situations from palestine and this goes back to Iran's independence in its positions without any negotiations with Arab countries or leaders which is opposite to the way the Arab countries deal with their issues, always discussing and negotiating everything. This may cause some misunderstanding of Iran's situation .Secondly the Arab people sympathise with Iran's presidents speech but the elite believe they are only ethical speehces that can not be applied currently and need more analysis to achieve the goal of restoring rights to Palestinian and limiting Zionism danger.

Question

Assalmu Alay Kum

It is quite an irony that many "muslims" won't agree with me but I think "Ahemdinejad" is the only Muslim leader who has the courage to speak strongly against Israel and is defying the United States which shows that he cares strongly for the Muslim Ummah. He definetely has earned my respect.

Even though I am a sunni musmlim but I guess all other muslim leaders should be honest and forthright like Ahemdinejad. Because I feel that most of the Islamic States including Saudi Arabia, Egypt are being ruled by bunch of wimps who indulge themselves in wealth and women.

Sincerely

Samir

Answer
We should be aware that not everything that shines is gold, some speeches might be very enthusitastic but not applicable, this is where we can place the Irani president's speech, he might be couragious and honest and expressing the right of the Palestinians and Muslims but it is not that easy, there are pressures on Arab countries that have to be taken into account. if Iran was defying Israel in reality as Palestine he might have changed his speech. Arabs are always on the defensive without rest. The west does not give them the chance and the attack is always different, whether cultural, political or economical. They have no chance to give such courageous speeches and so the president has to be aware that his speeches might cause pressure. we have to question the applicability of such speeches. will the international community allow us to do this. I think we have to be more cautious and achieve the power and strength required to talk in the first place.

Question
Don't you think that the 1979 Islamic/Shia Revolution led by Ayatollah Khomeini has been disastrous for religion, Shiism & Islam in Iran?
I say this as during the revolution, the Ayahtolahs & Shia Scholars who led the demonstrations against the Shah, unnecessarily raised the expectations of the people stating that there would be justice, democracy, freedom etc.
This didn't occur.
Instead, Ayahtollah Khomeini established Velayati Faqih political system where those that have religious authority (Ayahtollahs and Shia Scholars) also assume poltical authority.
This has done more damage to the credibility of religion, Shiism & Islam than anything the enemies of Islam could ever have dreamt of in the history of Iran/Persia since converting to Islam.
Due to the abuse of power, corruption, oppression & imprisonment of journalists and political dissidents by the Ayahtollahs, Shia Scholars & religious people who support the Revolution and the Velayahti Faqih political system, this has led to disillusionment amongst the people especially the under 30s who are too young to remember the days of the Shah or were not born.
Tragically, this has led to disillusionment with religion, Shiism & Islam itself to the point where I have heard of reports of apostasy of Iranian Persians becoming atheists or converting to Christianity especially, Evangelical Protestanism where Iranian & Amercan Evangelical Protestants regularly broadcast Persian programmes into Iran from California on Iranian exile private stations.
Some have converted to Zorastrianism regarding it as Persian and part of Persian Heritage as well as Great Persian past before Islam whereas regarding Islam as an Arab religion brought by Arab conquerors and invaders who, according to them, supposedly forced them to convert to Islam.
They regard the Revolution, the Ayahtollahs, Shia Scholars, religious Shias as 'Arabs' and 'Unpersian'!
They have probably been brainwashed and misled by Secular Iranian Persian Nationalists who are either atheists or Zoroastrian.

Answer
Briefly , I confirm that we do not defend the revolution, but there was evidence witnessed by everybody in the world that those who participated in this revolution were from all the society. if the religious people were able to contorl the revolution it is because others had no vision of the new country that will be born. there was no other option available so people gave their votes to the Welayat Faqih system although they discovered later the many pitfalls it had. Each system has its own good and bad points but the judgement remains in the hands of the people, if they discover it does not suit them anymore the will revolt against it as they did before against other systems.
