In fact, our 'for the love of the Prophet' campaign is a serious and faithful attempt to define and maintain "true love" for Prophet Muhammad (peace be on him). Though it is every Muslim's duty to love the Prophet (peace be on him), many Muslims misunderstand the "true love" that they should have for the Prophet. So, this campaign will help Muslims, and even non-Muslims, realize the sound concept of "love for the Prophet".
Moreover, this campaign will raise awareness about the Prophet (peace be on him) and his noble manners, teachings, and Sunnah. Also, it will deal with some misconceptions that some people have about Prophet Muhammad (peace be on him).
Finally, the campaign will seize the chance of the Prophet's birthday occasion to introduce the Prophet for Muslims and non-Muslims.

1. Running a series of live dialogues/fatwas/talks with prominent scholars and intellectuals.
2. Getting short talks from scholars on the occasion of the Prophet's birthday.
3. Inviting our readers to be active and contribute to our interactive post on "how to maintain love for the Prophet?"
4. Publishing new articles focusing on the theme of the campaign.
5. Making a 10-day quiz about Prophet's biography.
6. Highlighting relevant articles and nasheeds from IOL various sections and websites, specially Living Shari`ah, Reading Islam, and Art and Culture.
7. Showing our "Muhammad in Focus" page in a new look.

How to maintain true love for the Prophet?

In fact, I see that what we need is to translate our love for the Prophet (peace be upon him) into practice. To maintain love for the Prophet in one's heart, every Muslim is advised to:
1. get himself or herself well-acquainted with the Prophet's morals and characters.
2. be keen to follow the Prophet's Sunnah in all aspects of life.
3. regularly invoke Allah's blessings and peace on the Prophet (peace be on him).
4. perform Hajj and `Umrah and visit the Prophet's mosque, if possible.
5. defend the Prophet's cause and his Sunnah.

You are right in saying that "true love" for the Prophet (peace be on him) means to give priority to obeying him over any other human.
We have to understand that obeying the Prophet (peace be on him) means to obey Allah Almighty. In the Qur'an we read, " Say, (O Muhammad, to mankind): If you love Allah, follow me; Allah will love you and forgive you your sins. Allah is Forgiving, Merciful. Say: Obey Allah and the Messenger. But if they turn away, Lo! Allah loves not the disbelievers (in His guidance)." (Aal `Imran: 31-32)
Given the above, it is every Muslim's duty to follow in the Prophet's guidance in all aspects of life, with his/her spouse, parents, neighbors, friends, etc.
