Question Thanks Dr. Ahmed for being with us today.

We would like to know what is the recent stance now in Darfur?

And to what extent the relief work be?
Answer

Assalamu Alukum Wa Rahmat Allah,

I would like to thank IslamOnline.net site for hosting me today. I would like to welcom you from the land of the fur:Darfur.

It's a good opportunity to be inside the event yourself after hearing a lot of reports about Darfur, which most of it-unfortunately -inaccurate!

From the general point of view, peace is the word exactly describing the situation here nowadays. Yes, it is. No more idle behaviours, no fights, people in the camps are receiving aids from different sources from NGOs.

So many thanks to Allah for this stable stance, I hope from my heart that will remain for ever.

Question What is the current situation in Darfur for women? Is there a lot of rape and attacks by the Arab militias? How many armed militia soldiers are there, are there attempts to break them up?
Answer

I've seen women in Nyala in schools and most of them memorize the whole Qura'n. Others in the camps are living in subordinary situations suffering from diseases and low standard circumstances.
Third part, as we heared(but didn't see)have been raped but the exact number was multiplied tens of times by unfair hands that found its benefit in exagerating the bad situations in these areas.

Rape had been practised by both Arab and non-Arab militias. For the issue of numbers of Arab militias, it is difficult to estimate it, but efforts are being practised by the government and by other non-governmental establishments.

Question Assalamu'alaikum. :)
I just wanted to comment on the lack of publicity on this issue, amongst numerous conflicts and human rights abuse in the world, how do you decide which causes to fight for? How did you get involved?

I admire what you and you team are doing right now, and what strengths do you all draw upon? Just to do what must seem to be a very challenging task.

And finally, do you think that you can help save everyone?

Salaams!
Answer
Thanks for your comment. Yeah your comment is somehow right. As for the fighting sides, I think my previous answer gives a review on who are they and why they do.

On the other hand, In fact the issue is so clear that all the NGOs all over the world are sharing in it. It is not a secret. But to save every one is an impossible challenge. We are doing our best to save as much as we can.

Question Salam and thanks for replying my question, I want also to know how people witness the time of the conflict? How many cases you get daily at the time of fighting?
Answer
Witnesses are habitants in the areas of conflict. So they are the ones who carry the information to public.

Nowadays we get no cases due to ceasing of fire, but, during the conflicts we were receiving sporadic few cases. Conflicts do not occure daily. It is in the form of sporadic attacks.

Question What do you think are the US-West interests in this area. Are they just using it as a political card to divert the attention away from their failure in Iraq or do really have an eye on something?

thanks.
Answer
I think they are thinking of both sides, in addition to many other aspects in the area. What we hope is finding a way out of what is going now of conflicts and struggles. I hope there will an end.

Question How do you find your job as a doctor in a one of the world hot spot? how long you are there in Darfur? tell us more about the medical relief there?

And how many hosptial are in Darfur?
Answer

We are here for a mission. So the suffer you may think we get is not there. Our organization(Human Relief Commitee of the Egyptian Medical Syndicate) is working in Darfur from 2003,the start of crisis.

You cannot estimate the exact number of hospitals as some are terminating their work and others are starting every now and then.

But we are all trying our best to do our mission perfectly.

Question there's so much crisis in this world, there is no freedom of speech what the countries claim to have. Only freedom of speech is wher you speak for the good of the government. It feels like we are living in a huge prison.
Answer
If your paradise is not inside your heart, you will suffer even if you are in the best place on this earth.

Be sure that the good things remain and the bad ones disappear quickly, and read Surat Al-Ra'd,verse20-25. these are my words to you.
