Thank you. What you are describing is called floaters. These are changes in the clear jell between the lens and the retina which makes it visible to you. In most of the cases these are harmless and do not need any treatment. However, an examination of the back of the eye is needed to rule out any problems in the retina which occurs in very small percentage of cases.
Regarding LASIK, it is a safe operation provided that the proper patient is selected. The most important criteria are an age over 18 years, a stable error of refraction, the absence of an eye disease like glaucoma, Keratoconus (abnormal shape of the cornea), severe dry eyes, thin corneas, and large pupils. I recommend that you consult your eye doctor to make sure that your eyes are suitable for LASIK. The rate of success of the procedure is over 95%.

I have many serious problems regarding eyes,its like it exists in the whole family.
1)My mother who is 55 feels irritation in the eyes like something has gone inside it(and at the end it is nothing)and she always feels like rubbing them.She has gone to many doctors but as soon as the medicine ends the problems reapear.Nothing seems to work.Is there any permanent solution for it?She also complains of itching on and near the eyebrow areas.
2)I too feel like rubbing my eyes and one one end of left eye redness appears and it has been for 2 to 3 days.At the moment i am using OPTREX EYE DROPS.Is it o.k ?
Could you suggest some remedies for redness and itching feeling one gets.

Thank you. Regarding your mother's problem, it seems that she suffers from dry eyes. This problems usually needs continuous use of lubricating eye drops like Refresh Plus or HypoTears Plus or other available types. Other possibilities include the presence of long-standing eye infection like tracoma. Your doctor should be able to rule out such problems.
Regarding your complaint, this could be due to an allergic reaction. I recommend using Antistine Privine eye drops or the like. If symptoms persist, you may need more powerful drops but this needs to be under the supervision of your eye doctor.

Among these are changes in the shape of the cornea (about 2 in thousand), dry eyes, difficulty in measuring intra-occular pressure. In most of the cases there is a solution for the problem.

Thank you. If this was a recent problem, then do not worry, as this will wear off gradually. You can help yourself by using cold compresses two or three times daily. If this is a long-standing problem, then the causes may be due to a familial predsiposition or chronic fatigue. I advise you to have an eye checkup to rule out having an error of refraction which could be the cause for this.

Wa Alaikum Alsalaam. Although there is no scientific proof for this I heard this observation from many patients. What I am sure of is that reading Quran keeps your soul healthy.
Regarding pollution, it is difficult to avoid it but keeping exposure to a minimum and frequent washing of the nose and face (as we do in Wudu') helps in this respect.
