Question Why have all attempts failed to reach a ceasefire on the ground? Do you think the world one-power now, the US, is fueling this war? If so, why is the US willing for this war to continue?

Answer All attempts have failed to reach a ceasefire because the Israelis, backed by the Americans, have not succeeded in gaining the main goal of the war, mainly the destruction of Hezbuulah or eliminating its military power and forcing it back away from the borders.

So, Israel persists with its military operations with an American backing in the hope to achieve a military success before the Security Council declares a ceasefire.

It is clear that the US had announced its total support to Israel from the first day and has rejected all international efforts for a ceasefire pending a complete dissolution of Hezbullah to end its role in the south.

The Americans want through this war to communicate a message to the Palestinians and Syria and Iran, to the effect that no Arab or Islamic force could stand in the face of the American Israeli project. But so far the Americans have not achieved their goal, and the resistance will continue until they get convinced of failure to eliminate Hezbullah or until a peaceful and diplomatic solution is reached, which recognizes the victory of Hezbuallh and at the same time achieves some American goals and gives some solutions to the main causes of the Israeli occupation of Lebanon and the issue of the prisoners and the Israeli violations to the Lebanese sovereignty.

Question In my opinion, Israel wanted to press international community to deploy 'peace-keeping' troops led by NATO so that the peace-keeping troops could disarm Hizbullah, something that Israel army failed to do in 3
weeks fighting. That explains why Israel bomb UNIFIL post, Qana and recent statement by Olmert that Israel will wage war until an international forces deployed in Southern Lebanon. My question is how we can help Hizbullah to avoid being disarmed by this NATO-led peacekeeping force? The international community tends to tolerate peace-keeping force, while in reality the peace-keeping force is doing the invader's agenda, like we saw in Afghanistan today.

Answer What is needed now is media and political pressures to be exerted on the US and the international community to speed the issuance of a ceasefire resolution without any conditions.

We can reach this through demonstrations and popular moves and cables to all concerned quarters . In addition that the declaration of the Islamic movements of their backing to the resistance in Lebanon and their readiness to face any NATO forces to Lebanon will have serious and negative results, because according to information reached us so far the bringing of NATO forces has been met with Arab and international rejection, so there is an attempt in the security council to form an international force under the UN flag.

Some international quarters are communicating with Hizbullah, Iran, Syria and the Lebanese government so that the coming of such force must be through political understanding not by force , and the popular and political pressures are headed to this direction.

Question Dear brother,
Hezbollah is a Shitte resistance group which derives its support from Shia's all over the world. Being a Sunni myself I am inquisitive about the level of support you recieve from the Sunni circle of the Islamic World.

Salam
Answer It is wrong to see the Hizbullah operations against the Israeli army from a sectarian point of view, because the victory of Hizbullah is more a victory for Islam than a victory for it as a Shiite force.

This is because all the slogans carried by Hizbullah come from the general Islamic project especially in the area of liberating Al-Quds (Jerusalem) and backing resistance in Palestine and facing the American hegemony in the region.

So, however big the Shiites number and their force in the region, they will continue to form less than 20% of the Muslims in the world , and the Muslim Sunnis will continue to be the biggest and most widely power in the Muslim world .

What is needed now is that Muslims with all their sects compete for the resistance against the American and Israeli occupiers not competing for which sect is bigger or more powerful. Any victory achieved by any Islamic movement in the world will be a victory for all Muslims not for a specific sect. We all have to see the matter in this comprehensive vision , for the interest of Islam and not from a sectarian perception.

Question Do you think there would be a ceasefire soon?

Olmert said today that the war would only end after an international force is deployed, which could take a long time.

Answer Contacts and consultations in the security council are under way to reach a ceasefire and agreeing to forming an international force to come to south Lebanon.

It is likely that these contacts have reached a good distance in this area.

This happens while the same time the Israeli forces continue their military operations in south Lebanon to achieve a military victory by occupying some scores of kilometers along the borders, but so far the Israelis have not succeeded in this matter.

So, the coming days will witness a competition between diplomatic consultations and military operations and a temporary ceasefire is likely to materialize to pave the ground for a diplomatic solution and agreeing to form an international forces , while the Israeli forces are going on in their military operations against the Hezbullah fighters.

So, we have to wait some time until the end of this week or the beginning of the next week to know the horizons of the coming stage and how long the war will continue.

Question What is the position of the Lebanese government and Hizbullah from the proposed force?
Answer The Lebanese government accepted the coming of international forces within the context of a comprehensive political solution including the liberation of Sheba farms and releasing the prisoners and giving in the map of landmines and stop of Israeli. violations to the Lebanese sovereignty by land, sea and air. But the Lebanese government didn’t give details on the identity of this force, even though the government prefer that this force should be tied to the UN and not a NATO or multinational forces. as regards Hizbullah, it accepted the project of the government which was approached by government head Mr. Fuad el Sanyoura on the comprehensive political solution including the coming of the international forces . But the party so far prefers not to give a final say on this force and its role, even though the party tends to support the already UN affiliated forces existent in south of Lebanon and vehemently rejects the coming of NATO forces or multinational forces .

Question Assalam-o-aliqum sir,
Are you dissapointed with the rule of OIC at the moment. They just held a conference only yesturday when it should have been much earlier and plus it was of no use. So many muslims countries doing nothing. Don't you get frustrated?

Answer Of course the delay of the ICO in holding its meetings and in its move to pressure for a ceasefire and backing Lebanon has led to some depression among the Lebanese and the Arab and Islamic countries. However, there are expectations that the organization will move to pressure the US for a ceasefire and for boosting the Lebanese in confrontation of the Israeli aggression and reconstructing what has been destroyed .
If the ICO becomes unable to do this role, the Arab and Muslim peoples have to move with popular, practical activities for backing the resistance, the Lebanese and Palestinians in their confrontation of the Israeli aggression backed by the US. However, we have big hope for the move of the peoples rather than the rulers and the official regimes.

Question Assalamu Alaikkum,

We come to know that the Israel millitiry used in Lebanan the chemical wepans? what kind of wepans it used?
Answer Some Lebanese media published detailed reports on internationally banned weapons used by the Israeli army in its aggression on Lebanon and these IBW led to very serious health disasters for civilians , but so far the reports of using these weapons are not confirmed yet.

There are reports on the use of Depleted Uranium and cluster bombs and phosphoric ones which could lead to cancer and other serious diseases.
for detailed information on these weapons , see al Safeer daily on 30-7-2006

Question Do you think the international force would have a mandate to disarm Hizbullah? And would there be a new civil war if the government supported that?

Answer There is a kind of conflict among the international powers, especially the Security Council members concerning the role of this proposed international force in south Lebanon. As far as I know France does not want this force to come to disarm Hizbullah. It thinks handling Hizbullah weapons should be settled with the Lebanese government, and that's what the Lebanese government wants.

All the Lebanese internal powers see that Lebanon's high interest lies in reaching a within agreement regarding Hizbullah weapons without giving any other external parties an opportunity to intervene in Lebanon's internal affairs.

Question who is benefiting from this war?,iguess IRAN is number one (diverting the world's attention from it's nuclear program as the help it gave the US and allies in invading AFGHANISTAN,IRAK(how can so called shia mulim religion plot against sunni muslim),secondly it's a big show acting in it ISRAEL PLUS IT'S FAKE ENEMY HEZBOALLAH OR SHALL I SAY SECRET FRIEND.THEY SIMPLY WANT TO MAKE HIM A HERO IN THE EYES OF COMMON SUNNI SO THEY MIGHT BECOME shia followers and then dear brother, sister you know what's gonna happen to the UMMAH.

Answer This question includes some misconceptions and incorrect information.

This war launched by Israel and the US aims at eliminating the power of Hizbullah and the resistance in Lebanon. They want to convey a message to all resistance powers in the region, especially in Palestine, Iraq and Afghanistan that they have to submit to the US-Israeli hegemony.

In regards to the Iranian role, we can clearly notice that it supports the resistance powers against Israel and the US, but Iran, meanwhile, thinks it has no interest in the time being to open another front, especially at a time when it already faces a harsh pressure for giving up its nuclear project.

It's totally incorrect to say that there is a hidden coalition between Israel and the Shiites in Lebanon.

The US and Israel's top goal nowadays is to trigger sectarian conflicts between the Sunnis and the Shiites in order to be able to easily dominate the whole region.

We need to fully understand the real scopes of all that is happening around us and to avoid the analyses and stances that only help the Americans and Israelis. The Islamic unity is the only solution to face them.

Question Whom do you think is held responsible for this war? How could we defend the Israeli claims that Hizbullah is to blame for this war?

Answer It may be correct to say that Hizbullah started this war, but we have to ask first: why?

The main goal of Hizbullah operation was to set free thousands of prisoners through exchanging them with those captured Israeli soldiers.

But Israel's reaction has been out of proportion and overstepped all the expected limits. The Israeli aggression is targeting all the Lebanese people, not Hizbullah fighters. It is targeting the country's infrastructure, bridges, civilians and children.

900 have been killed so far, and other 4000 have been wounded. Is it fair? So, the Israeli aggression cannot be considered a mere reaction, but it is a deliberate move to destroy the whole country and its people.
