Question
Your people have already been the biggest losers since day one. Just take a look around. Until you give up the foolish idea that you can wage war, you will never have peace.
Answer
I am sorry that I find myself in a position to admit most of your question, however, I must say that the Palestinian people has been a victim of the Western conspiracies for the past 1400 years to get rid of the Jews from Europe and finally discard them here in Palestine. As for us Palestinians, I must say that since the beginning, we have been the spearhead of the resistance movement against not only the Jews, but also all the Western ambitions in the Middle East in general.

Question Asalamu Aleykum W.W.

1. In your view, are the candidates running worse than Sharon and what he did?

2. Who is that person that can sympathize with Palestinians the most and give them what they want?

3. Do you think that it really doesn't matter who comes and that they are all bad?

4. What can muslims living in the west do to help muslims in filisteen?

May Allah make you people of the sabireen, and Insha'Allah you will be victorious one day.

Answer I want to thank you for your compassionate stand at a time when it is very few who dare to stand up with us.

To answer your question, I must say that there is little or no difference between Israeli candidates. They all agree that Palestinian refugees cannot return, they all agree that Jerusalem is their eternal, as they claim, capital, that the borders must be under their control, and they all agree to continue to populate the West Bank with Jewish settlements, especially so since they departed from Gaza. So we have no hope that anyone of the will give the Palestinians anything even close to what they hope for. So, as I said earlier, our hope is that our struggle and resistance will continue, at least to liberate the West Bank, and perhaps leave other unsettled issues to the coming generations.

As for Muslims in the West, we would sincerely hope that they will become more involved, more active, and more organize to influence their governments to pressure Israel into giving back what they have stolen from the Palestinians, or at least some of it.

Thank you for your good wishes and we hope that there are more Muslims, in the West and the rest of the world who feel like you do.

Salam Alaikum.

Question
Salam,

Can you tell us what would the outcome be if Benjamin Nethanyahu wins?..Thanks
Answer
I do not think, and I do not expect that Natanyahu will make it. All polls indicate that the winners will be Kadema, which is a continuation of the Sharon era and policies, and to a lesser extent, the Labor Party. I do expect that some other religious, fundamental, non-Zionist parties will also make small progress in the elections.

This new makeup of the government will satisfy what most Israelis want, i.e. no progress in the stalled peace process, and no new initiatives to try to move the issue of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict to a peaceful settlement. For this reason I do not think that Natanyahu will make it.

Question
How do you describe the arab camaigns in this poll, can they introduce a strong show ? and what are the obstacles the face?

Answer
The Arab residents are being represented by three groups, the largest, most represented is the Arab Unity Coalition, a coalition of Arab and Islamic groups headed by me. The other is The Democratic Front for Equality, a combined Arab and Jewish candidates, mostly communists or left leaning. We had hoped that all blocks were campaigning under one ticket, this was not possible for reasons that are beyond the scope of this interview.
All Arab candidates have many issues in common. For example, we as Arabs are suffering the injustices done to us by the Israeli society which to this date treats us as second class citizens knowing that we are the original natives of this land.

All Arab block are campaigning under common denominators. First that we are all victims to some circumstance that we were born in, much larger than us and beyond our control. The second denominator is that we as Arabs in Israel, have beein waging a civil disobedience and resistance movement since the establishment of the state of Israel. The third is that Israeli policies have not changed one little bit for the past 57 years, except for some superficial changes here and there.

We as a United Arab & Islamic coalition are fighting for our rights and in defense of our people, Alaqsa, as we have been doing for so many years against the relentless Israeli campaign.

Question
What do you expect if Kadima's Olmert win the elections?
doesn't that mean a disaster for the palestinian people as he will cut off the palestinian lands and define the israeli borders forcebly in a single move?

Answer

I believe that Olmert will go ahead and withdraw from Parts of the West Bank, but it will not be the same as that of Gaza.,
In the West Bank Olmert intends to swallow at least 50% of the West Bank as defined by the Barrier that is being built now. He will keep Jerusalem and the Jordan valley in addition to the eastern borders. All that in addition to dividing the West Bank into small, non-viable cantons. I believe the next few years life for the Palestinians will be impossible which is exactly what Olmert wants. All of the in face of Arab inability to help the Palestinian people, World indifference and European hypocrisy. I do not care much for what the Israeli side wants to do, it is pretty clear to me, what I care more is what the Arab and Muslim countries will do, and what the European position will be now that the Palestinians made their choice by electing Hamas. Of course I have no faith of the American position especially under Bush. Until there is a sincere effort by the Muslims to help us, the Palestinians and their state will be subject to the whims of the West.

Question
Please identify a single Moslem country where there is more freedom of religion than in Israel. You are a hypocrite.

Answer
I am so sorry to have to hear this question from a Muslim in Afghanistan. Especially after what we have seen happen to the Afghani people after defeating the Soviet Union. At any rate, there is no hypocrisy in what we are doing. We are standing firm in our demands for our legitimate rights awaiting the day when the Muslim nations and Arab countries stand up to their responsibilities and liberate Alaqsa and Jerusalem. To this date, they have let us down, but the day will come when they will live up to their responsibility towards their fellow Muslims here in Palestine, until then, we have no option but to continue to resist occupation until the final liberation of Palestine.

Question
Salam,
For Arab candidates in Israel, do they can get votes from only the arab population, I mean are any candidates popular with yehudi public?

Answer

Since the inception of the State of Israel, never has a Jew voted for an Arab. The Lines are very clear, an Arab votes for Arabs and a Jew votes for Jews. However, and due to the military governments in the Arab World, Arabs in Israel were subjected to state-sponsored terror. Many Arab voters in Israel felt that they should vote to the left-leaning Israeli candidates, especially ones from the communist party believing that they were closer to the Arab interest. This falsehood was revealed in Israel’s past wars against the Arabs where it was the communist party that played a role of a mediator to secure weapons from the former Czechoslovakia to fight the Arab armies.

At any rate, for a long time until now, we really never have any truly Arab candidates representing Arab and Muslim ambitions until now. Lately new Arab candidates truly representing Arab ambitions and fighting for Arab causes have begun to emerge. However, we are under no illusion that the Israeli’s will never permit the Arab representatives in the parliament to do more than possibly attempting to fend off or slow the damage, but never to make any forward progress.

Question Assalam aleikum. Thank you for all your efforts to answer our questions. I would like to ask you briefly if you think that arab deputees in the israeli parliament can play a leading role in forcing israeli government to accept the result of Palestinian elections, or is just only a wish, with no hopes? Thank you. Maasalame

Answer I do not believe that the Arab representatives in any Israeli Parliament will ever be able to force Israel into anything, however, I believe that the most any Arab representative can hope for is that he or she may be able to influence decisions as it pertain to Arab conditions in Israel. There are times when Arab representatives can seize opportunities to change the balance of government decisions as happens in Gaza withdrawal. If it was not for two Arab votes Israel would not have withdrawn from Gaza.

I truly believe that it is the Outside world, especially the West is the one that can influence, or force Israel into accepting Palestinian decisions. I also believe that Palestinians made the right choice in electing Hamas and that Hams is smart enough to realize the balance of power is not in their favor now and that they will try to represent the Palestinian interest to the best they can.

Any hope of Israel accepting Hamas as the leader for the Palestinian people is unrealistic in the absence of any real Arab and Islamic support, and I think Hamas realizes that.
