Im a married woman,me and my husband practise islam to the best of our capabilities,but as normal humans,my husband before our marriage and also during had masturbated alot,i dont know because of this or waht other reason he has big urinary issue,also he himself confessed to me he doesnt feel like having intimacy with me he can himself satisfy.im left depressed and unwanted and now he doesn gives me full reason or explanation for this.due to this problem i too have resorted to masturbation fully knowing this is haram in islam and have regretted it,but what other option i have,i only did it in extreme need.i hate it now and myself.

The habit of masturbation does not cause any organic hazards, but as seen in this question, it has psychological drawbacks, that the individual prefers his self pleasuring more than practicing with his wife, which induces marital conflicts. The husband needs medical help in the form of sex therapy by specialist to help the couple overcome this problem, but there is no drug therapy for this case, only behavioural therapy. Also, the wife should be involved in the therapy sessions.

I find it very hard to stop masturbation. It usually happens at night when it is like I cannot control myself any more. Al`hamdulillah I do not watch porn and things like that but whilst sleeping, I wake up randomly and start masturbating. The feeling inside my heart forces me to do that and I cannot stop whatsoever.
Afterwards I feel disgusted by myself(for example when I wake up in the morning), and hate myself more than anything. I really REALLY want to get this habit out. I have read other IOL's articles on how to stop masturbating, but as a student who lives on his own, I find them of less help.
Please help.
