Aslaam o Alaikum, I have most deepest respect for the resistance groups in plestine, i would like to ask that if and when the Zionist forces attack Lebanon or Syria (in their pursuit for greater Israel) would the palestinian resistance groups work outside Palestine?
Answer
Concerning the palestinian resistance, there is a clear policy the resistance had relied on, it can be summarizd in the focus on the operations within the Palestinian territories.
I think that any crime committed by the enemy would be causing a response within Palestine and the impact would be more effective. Yet there is an important point I should mention: such a policy would force all countries to prevent Israel from performing any terrorist operations.
In this sense these countries would preserve their security and Muslims all over the world who sympathize with the Palestinian cause and resistance would never forgive such crimes.

Question
What is your primary role as representative offices outside Palestine? Are any of the Hamas operations being directed from outside?
Answer
With respect to the representatives of Hamas outside Palestine, their role is limited to political, press and diplomatic issues. And it is much more like the diplomatic missions or embassies. The aim of this role is to explain the positions and stands of the Hamas movement along with the defense of its objectives and the objectives of the Palestinian people as a whole.
Concerning the military operations, all of their planning and requirements are being done inside the Occupied Territories. And this can be clearly seen from the death of several martyrs who have undertaken military operations, such as Salah Shehadah and Yehya Ayyash, who were among the most prominent leaders within the movement.
However, the Zionist entity continues to falsely claim that these military operations are being planned and initiated from outside the Occupied Territories. Fortunately enough, that attempt has been failing. And this was proved in 1995 when D. Moussa Abou Marzouk, the chairperson in the political bureau of Hamas at that time (now deputy chairperson), was arrested. For more than 18 months the Zionists have failed to prove any connection between Dr. Abou Marzouk and the military operations inside the Palestinian territories and that is why he was released without trial.

As a representative of Hamas in Lebanon, did you witness any governmental pressure on you to close your office? Has the Lebanese government been subjected to any form of pressure due to your presence there?
Answer
The office of Hamas is doing its job properly, especially that the presence of Hamas here is part of the Palestinian people who are refugees in this country. It should also be mentioned that the position of the Lebanese goverment is supportive to Palestinian rights, especially the Right of Return for the people of Palestine.

Question
Greetings Mr. Hamdan. I would like to ask you whether you and your organizations, and others like yours, both in Palestine and in the Palestinian diaspora are aware of the fact that there are many religious Jews who oppose Zionism? There are a number of websites in English that express the views of pure Judaism without the abomination called Zionism. Palestinians the world over may be interested in them. How ironic that the world forgets that before Zionism the Jewish People never had as good friends as the Arab People!
The websites are: www.jewsagainstzionism.com, www.nkusa.org, www.netureikartauk.org and www.jewsnotzionists.org.
Answer
First of all, thank you for your greetings and I send you the same. We are certainly aware and very much concerned with you have said. And I would like to clarify that our resistance against the Zionists is just for the fact that they are occupiers. And of course we don't fight them for their religion, on the contrary, with respect to us as Muslims, we are commanded to deal with Christians and Jews with great respect. And that's why the Arab and Muslim region is the only place where Christians and Jews were not killed or persecuted just for their religion.

Question
My question has to do with the current performance of Israel. It does not appear to be following the truce as it should. The killing and the assassination continues. What do you think Israel’s intentions behind this are?
Answer
It is difficult to expect from Israel to abide with an agreement or treaty, so we should expect such operations as you have already mentioned in your question.
The main cause behind this issue might be attributed to the Israeli insistance on destroying the Palestinian will and its resistance, and the desire to gain their Palestinian just goals.
That's why the Israelis never dealt properly with any political attempt which might have led to the implementation of some Palestinian objectives.

Question
With Hamas’ acceptance of the truce, how do you foresee the future of Palestinian resistance? Will it continue to be associated with Israeli violations, or if Israel abides you will withhold your fight?
Answer
First of all, and according to the experience of the Palestinian people throughout the past fiftyfive years, it has been proven that resistance always remains the strategic option for the Palestinian people, and any political attempt should not suppress it unjustly.
I would say that if the Palestinian people can obtain their rights without resistance it would be excellent. However, the experience with the negotiations which started in Madrid 12 years ago has proven that this option is quite impossible.
So what is required is that the Palestinian people resist, along with Arab and international pressures exerted on Israel to force it to terminate its occupation.

Question
In your opinion, are the zionists starting to grow tired and hopeless of the intifida to the point that they've realized that their policy of brutal repression can not work and that they have exhausted any options they may have left?
Answer
I think that the Israelis have reached a convincing stage in which they have discovered that their occupation is not fruitful anymore. Yet there are two issues that prevent this conviction from being transformed into a political decision:
The first is the military size and power that the Israelis have been enjoying, and this military size has a significant impact on the decision-making process in Israel. It should be mentioned that the military leaders in Israel remain convinced that they can obtain a military achievement which would minimize the losses of any political decision.
The second is the role of a political party (i.e. the Palestinian authority) who is willing to reach any agreement without scoring a serious achievement with respect to Palestinian rights. This party is also ready to respond positively to Israel's security conditions.

I understand from a confirmed source that there are two major divisions in Hamas; one calling for more resistance and another wanting to bring it to a halt to relax the situation. Which side are you on?
Answer
As a representative of Hamas in Lebanon and as one of its officials, I would like to stress that there is only one Hamas and that the decision in our movement is united and solid. And I'm expressing the point of view of Hamas when I talk about the philosophy of resistance or any political decision.

Question
Hello, Mr. Hamdan. I saw the very interesting posting of Daniel. I think it is of urgent need for the Palestinian organizations in their public relations to publish many documents and give many interviews that show the similarity between what the Zionist heretics have done in Palestine and what the Nazis did to the Jews. Furthermore, it is probably a very good idea to publish and give interviews on the subject that the resistance is not anti-Jewish, as you explained, because the Zionists keep Jews in perpetual fear and paranoia on this subject so as to keep Jews under their control. Since I am a religious Jew like Daniel, I cannot emphasize this issue enough vis a vis the Jewish community in every country, including Palestine.
Answer
I confirm what I've already said in the previous question, and I really appreciate and support what you said. And we are ready for any cooperation in this respect and you can e-mail me om this address: Usamah_Hamdan@hotmail.com
This goes for Daniel as well, and all of your friends, whose realization of what Zionism is and its negative impact on both the Jews and Palestinians
I strongly appreciate.

Question
The truce suggests that peace per se is considered an absolute goal, even if justice is clearly infringed upon. What do you think?
Answer
Any solution that lacks adequate justice will certainly not survive. That's why any effort to obtain a solution should be based on three pillars: justice, the Palestinian Right of Return and the achievement and implementation of all Palestinian rights. Only then can peace prevail in the Middle East.

Question
Assalamu Alaikum.
I am puzzled by the fact that, while everyone admits Fascism in Israel is the real danger to peace and security in the region, elimination of the Israeli fascism has not been among the demands of the Paletinians factions.
What good will it do to demand Israel release 8000 civilians prisoners and threaten to walk away from negotiations, when we all know, given the climate in Israel, the odds are they will arrest 20,000 in a few year's time?!
I believe you will get much more mileage, if you make the elimination of the Israeli Fascism a critical item in the negotiations. Just shedding light on it, at every opportunity, will benefit the cause of justice, equality, and peace, for Palestinians in Israel, in the Occupied Territories, and people of Jordan, Lebanon, and Syria.
All other discussions appear to be an exercise in futility, buying time for the Israeli hardliners to spread their fascism and strengthen their base.
Wassalam.
Answer
First of all, the fascist nature of the Israeli policy is very clear and it doesn't need further calrification. Yet what is needed is to pressure the successive administrations and other goverments supportive of Israel to deal with this aggressive state in accordance with its fascist nature. And this role is applicable to all of those who see the plight the Palestinians under occupation everywhere, especially in the West.

Question
What is your view, If other Islamic countries accept Israel, like there is a talk about Pakistan(the only Islamic nation with military power) may do it. Will it help Palestinian?. Thanks.
Answer
Its obvious that any relations with or recognition of the Zionist entity will never help the Palestinian cause, especially if it is from an Arab or Muslim country.
I'm aware here that the government of Pakistan is responding to American pressure to recognize that entity. Unfortunately, this is taking place at a time when the Pakistani government has closed Al-Aqsa Research Center due to American pressure. This happened just for the fact that this center carries the name of Al-Aqsa. I hope that the Pakistani people would succeed in reversing this attempt.

Question
Do you also believe the Labor and Likud parties are really two sides of the same coin, created by the hardliners to play "good" cop, "bad" cop with the public and undermine the peace movement in the region?
Answer
I am extremely convinced that both parties are working heavily to achieve Israel's strategic interests, despite the differences in style and rhetoric. Differences that render some to mistakenly think that there is a serious difference between two parties.
The Likud, whose nucleus was the Haganah and other gangs, have committed a lot of massacres against Palestinians before the declaration of what is now called the State of Israel. The Labor party on its part declared that the state is benefitting from the achievements of those rightist gangs. And throughout the unfair presence of this state both parties have exchanged roles in committing additional massacres against the Palestinian people, aiming together to establish some form of hegemony to justify the existence of this aggressive state all over the area. In other words, both parties view the settlement "peace" from this perspective.
