Question
Why did the Cairo Talks fail? What went wrong? Where do the factions meet and on which points do they differ? Don’t they all have the same agenda?
Answer
The Cairo Talks didn’t fail. As in every talk there were points accepted by all fations and others which were points of dispute, the reason is the presence of Palestinian dispute over many issues.
Basically, there were two points of view about some items, the first view was represented by Fateh and other factions, and in accordance with the Egyptian view of what is desired by the talks. This view believes that the Palestinian authority must be given full mandate to negotiate with the Israelis, by that time there would have been truce for one year.
The view represented by Hamas and other factions believes that nobody will have the privilege of such mandate. Other truces meant giving the Israelis the liberty to do what they want with our people, even though the international circumstances were not in favor of such thing.
We don’t mind any conditions proposed by any faction for mutual cease fire, thus it is important to know what conditions the Isrealis are ready to accept. There are a lot of points of view over issues like national unity and the need to prevent domestic conflict among Palestinians.

Question
Is there a specific form of compensation for the families of the bombers? Do you remain in touch with their families?
Answer
So far, 3000 people Palestians have been martyred in the Intifada. But there are people who choose how to die, and others don’t really have a choice. The Palestinian people love life and freedom, many of them choose freedom for their country and they sacrifice themselves for the sake of it. They are certainly taken care of and their families are compensated. Nobody could neglect those martyrs and their families, they are in our hearts, all of us: Hamas, Fateh and all the Palestinian factions. We all stand by their families and compensate them and take care of them and keep the memory of the martyrs.

Question
1- Western analysts say that Hamas brainwashes Palestinian youngsters and indoctrinates them, guiding them to commit suicide bombings. How do you comment on that? In that regard, I have another question: I know that possibly tens, or even hundreds, of Palestinians volunteer to commit suicide bombings. How/on what basis do you choose among them?
2- On what conditions will Hamas halt civilian-targeted operations? On what conditions will Hamas halt suicide bombings in general?
Answer
Hamas doesn’t brainwash the youngsters. Hamas is a resistance movement like any other movements around the world, the phenomena of martyrdom became general in the Palestinian society because it is available for all people and it is a way to seek revenge from the Israelis. There are no specific selection processes for the martyrs. Palestinian youngsters are racing to become bombers, they want martyrdom to give help protect others, so that they would live.
On the other hand, Hamas’ attack on some civilians is a reaction for the Zionist attacks on our people. The first to attack civilians were Jews in Khalil, when people were killed while praying. Israel sends its tanks and fighters to kill women and children and old people. We don’t have such artillery, we defend ourselves by ourselves, Israel sends a bomb to kill civilians and Palestinians fight back, and here I would like to renew our call for sparing the lives of all civilians. And as I said before, I challenge Israel to accept sparing the civilians the agony of our dispute.

Question
By announcing your readiness, as Hamas, to bring civilian-targeted operations to a halt, you inherently admit they were wrong. Do you admit they were wrong?
Answer
Such act was a legal self-defense guaranteed in international charters. We are defending ourselves and our people, we only want to put an end to the occupation.
I have asked Western journalists in live interviews after they came from Palestine, "What were you to do if you were in our place?" they said that what the Palestinians face from blocking and loss of liberty and death, leaves them with nothing left but their own lives. We want nothing but freedom and independence.

Question
Greetings, Mr. Marzouk. Many anti-Zionist Jews, who often feel like voices in the wilderness, are constantly appealing to their fellow Jews to rebel against the heresy against Judaism, the abomination known as the State of "Israel." We constantly try to explain that the actions of the Intifada factions correspond directly to what the Zionist heretics are doing to the Palestinians, and on the other hand that the Intifada itself is bringing about the collapse of the Zionist Idolatry. Can Hamas and other organizations engage in an intensive public relations campaign highlighting the absolute differences between Zionism and Judaism in order to undercut the paranoia of Zionist propaganda that keeps so many Jews brainwashed??
Answer
To some extent, this description matches what we believe in. We don’t believe that every Jew is a Zionist, we don’t fight Jews because they are Jew. Jews lived among us for decades years as citizens. We only fight those who expelled our people and took our land, and we distinguish between the occupier and those who disagree with such occupation. We seek, as much as we can, media and cultural wisdom to explain this matter. But, Jews or non-Jews, Zionists change the realities and forge historical facts. The Intifada was a clear example, when most Palestinian losses were not evident in Western media.

Question
In 1996, under the rule of the Israeli Labor party, many argued that civilian-targeted operations did not properly serve the cause of the Palestinians, given that the Labor often appeared “soft-spoken” to the general public. This situation changed now with Likud’s outright hardcore approach to the crisis, and its deliberate crackdown on Palestinians through its irrational policy of collective punishment. Why announce the halt on these operations now, when they have in fact started to create an echo in many parts of the world, bringing Israel’s atrocities to the attention of a larger segment in the international community than it did back in 1996?
Answer
The operations didn’t stop, five days ago there an operation took place on Israeli soldiers, the point is not here, and the point is not who rules in Israeli government the occupation is a fact and the settlements were established at the time when the labor party was ruling, the story is the story of a people who was obliterated and expelled from their country and till now half of the people are out of the country and all the land is occupied the operations are a kind of resistance and the worst alternative for any people is placing bets on its enemy to achieve its interests

Question
I read in the news that you refused an Egyptian proposal for a one-year full cease fire to pave the way for talks between the Palestinian Authority and Israel. Was there pressure exerted on you from the Egyptian government during the negotiations? Do you feel this had a role to play in the failure of the talks?
Answer
There are still unofficial Egyptian calls to resume talks, there is nothing official until this moment except through Palestinian Minister Nabil Shaa'th. We would not describe such efforts as "pressure," but we say that the Palestinian cause is an Arab and Muslim cause. They have to do what they can to help the Palestinians, even though we wish that the mechanisms of support would be in accordance with our concepts, views and aspirations.

Question
As-salamu-alaikum!
Everytime the resistance factions declare a hudna, the Zionist use the opportunity to kill a "big leader". Has not Hamas learned this Israeli Lesson yet? Or what can Hamas do to prevent such an outcome?
Answer
Surely we know through past experiences, and have read that message clearly. This is what we said to the Egyptians and the Palestinian Authority; we are not ready to give truce for the Israelis and allow them to kill our people. The first truce was decided as a response for national, regional and international circumstances. We took the decision at that time for the sake of our people and we paid the least price.

Question
How can you differentiate between an Israeli civilian and a soldier? Every Israeli over 17 years of age must serve in the army, even the ones that are not in uniform are resevres. Would you agree that everyone over 17 is a valid target? It's not like they ever cared who dies when they drop a 1 ton bomb over a civilian building to kill one fighter.
Answer
It is difficult to define who is a civilian and who is a soldier in Israel, Ben Gurion himself says “We are an army on leave.” Most of the Israeli people, must serve one month a year, and the rest of the year they are kept on call as reserves. There is a great number of Israelis that wears civilian uniforms, but they are armed and are fighting unarmed civilians on the Palestinian side. We therefore say that April’s accords between Hizbullah and Israelis to spare the lives of civilians was in favor of Hizbullah.

Question
Muslims now live in Turkey, Egypt, France, USA, etc., all under non-Islamic governments. Very likely, any so-called "two state" solution will adhere to the Zionist goals of keeping Palestinians beggars and slave laborors for Israel.
Why would a "two-state" solution, living under a Egyptian/Turkish Style "Muslim" government be preferable to a one-state solution with everyone having the same rights?
Answer
We believe that the two state-solution is based on Bush’s proposal and Oslo’s approach. This solution is refused by Israelis, as they are trying to impose new facts on the ground by blocking Palestinians through putting them in isolated cantons.
The real meaning of such solution is full Israeli dominance and very limited Palestinian autonomy. Nobody can give this concept a real meaning, it is difficult to explain something understood differently by each party, Israel has no rights in our land and historical Palestine is for Palestinians.

Question
Many observers place the ultimate blame on the struggle for “authority” and “power” as the major dividing line between the factions. In your view, do see that struggle hindering the achievement of the higher goal of liberation?
Answer
Surely some options are closed in the face of Palestinian people, thus we are obliged to resort to the alternative of resistance and giving sacrifices, the Palestinian authority tried negotiations for ten years, and they got nothing. The result was the targeted assassination of key Palestinian figures, the confinement of Yassir Arafat in Ramallah and the besieging of the whole Palestinian people. The resistance alternative is obligatory for us, we wish that one day occupation would terminate and then resistance would stop.

Question
bismillah
assalaam alikum,
may allah all our brothers from palestine ameen.
My question is, what is the main reason why the palestinian jihad cannot be conducted like the chechen jihad where foreign arab mujahideen can come in , and conduct military operations against the occupiers and against their tanks, personnel carriers and so on....?
Answer
The circumstances in Chechnya are completely different from those in Palestine, the Chechan people are fighting in their country a government that allies with the Russians, and they find wide support in Europe and the former Soviet Union. The Palestinian resistance doesn’t find support from the neighboring countries, and suffers from an occupation that expelled the people and tried to establish settlements. The circumstances are different by all means.

Question
Dear Moussa..
What you wait yourselves of you brothers and sisters in the Isamic countries as help in your fight for the liberation of Palestin?
Answer
Firstly, Palestine is an Islamic cause as much as it is a national and Arabic cause and the alliance of the west through the phase of establishing the Zionist entity or supporting it from that time till now, demands from all of us a deep conception of the nature of the dispute and its dimensions an when the cause is the cause of every Muslim we should all think how to server this case and when and how, we on the land of Palestine need lots of support especially from our Muslim and Arab brothers and sisters, politically, financially and spiritual wise and thus we say that the Palestinian people who are besieged and killed and whose houses are destroyed and their trees are eradicated are suffering from the decrease of aid that they used to receive to less that 70 percent at least and thus there is a the embargo is bigger it enrolls all the Muslims who want to help the Palestinians I thank our brother and tell him that the Palestinian people are awaiting for all kind of support from prayers to substantial support.
