Would you please clarify what do you mean by change?
Answer
Thank you. I do mean the improvement of our behavior in terms of our relationship with God and human beings at large.
The month of Ramadan teaches and reminds us a lot of good things such as patience, tolerance, compassion, love, co-operation, sharing the feelings and purifying our sins and wrongdoings before Ramadan.
All in all, we need to improve and strengthen our faith and uphold good behavior and character.
Indeed, there are some many changes Muslims have to embark on today. The image and status of Muslims are very disheartening and unbecoming.
First and foremost, Muslims must strengthen their belief in their faith by doing the commands of Allah and avoiding all prohibited activities from lying, hypocrisy, laziness, backwardness, ignorance, violence etc.. They must restore the leading status of the Ummah in all fields of knowledge. They must stop inter-fighting, disunity and disgracing one another because of petty issues. They must be united among themselves by sharing feelings of happiness and sadness.
I shall take this opportunity to call upon all Muslims and mankind to extend hands of help and assistance to beloved Muslims brothers and sisters who lost their lives in the tragedy of the earthquake in Pakistan and Kashmir. May Allah accept them in Paradise and may He be kind to those who lost their homes and properties.
Muslims should not be watching this tragedy without doing their levels of best in cash as well as in kind. We must remember them in our prayers and du`aa. God is the Greatest and the All-Forgiving.
Finally, we shall remember that it is only when we change ourselves Allah will change our status from bad to good and from being led to be leaders. This is the promise of Allah and we shall start changes from individual level to societal and then the Ummah at large.
God knows better.

Question
Why change at this specific time?
Answer
Thank you very much.
Indeed, change is always needed but it becomes more needed in the holy month of Ramadan, thus in this month Muslims have a chance to be purified from all their sins and wrongdoings. They also have a chance to be answered by God in anything they pray for. This is due to the fact that month of Ramadan is a blessed month and a unique occasion that every Muslim must strive to achieve the highest level of piety, purification, devotion and closeness to the Almighty.
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) is reported to have stated that whoever fasts Ramadan with Iman and seeking the rewards of Allah, then all his or her sins will be forgiven by Allah. In other words, it is an opportunity to start a new life with new style and attitude which must be much better and clean than whatever he or she was doing before this holy month.
Accordingly, let us do our level of best to change our moral, behavior, commitment and devotion from lower level to higher level.
God knows better.

Question
Dear brother, in context with the verse in the Qur'an states that Allah does not change the state of a person unless he changes himself first.
My question to the honorable counselor is: I am finding something very difficult to change and I want to change for the better, but in the name of Allah I find it difficult to change. I feel miserable at times...My predicament is I liked a non-Muslim girl for long, but things didn't materialize because of the qadar. I am not able to forget feeling of how hard I try. Can you advise me and make du`aa for me. This will be the best gift I will receive in my life if I resolve my situation for good.
Answer
Thank you and may Allah grant you a chance to change from the state you mentioned.
I am confident that you can change thus you believe you need to change and you also believe in Qadar of Allah. With these two principles you can change yourself and it does just need from you another step towards achieving the change.
In other word, I shall advise to get married as soon as possible. Certainly, you will find in marriage what you missed or what you feel lacking right now. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) called upon those people who are able to marry that they should do so. Thus, marriage is a protection for you, your health and your faith. In this context, you shall look for a good female Muslim to become your legal partner.
Furthermore, do keep praying Allah in this holy month to assist you in finding an honest, lovely, trustworthy and devoted partner.
I shall pray for you. God knows better.

Question
With my little experience, I know Ramadan teaches us humility, kindness. It shapes our behavior for better, but my concern is that immediately after Ramadan you see Muslims behaving indifferently from the lessons they have learnt in Ramadan. What do you think is missing despite the fact that we have under gone one month of spiritual training?
Answer
Thank you.
Truly, the life is a struggle between bad and good. Forgetfulness is an essential part of human beings. We quickly forget and easily we can be misled by evils and devils. Therefore, there is a need for continuous repentance to Allah from time to time.
Ramadan teaches us lots of good things, but unfortunately, Satan does not give up and will continue working harder on those people who had a chance to be forgiven in the month of Ramadan. Satan can not afford to lose them. In this regard, we must believe that the struggle with Satan is endless and it becomes higher after Ramadan.
I shall propose that we have to include in our prayers and supplication that may Allah give us strength and power to uphold good behavior and good morals that we learnt and went through during the month of Ramadan. It is only through Allah's help that we can defeat the Satan after Ramadan as well as in Ramadan.
God knows better.

Question
Ramadan is the month of compassion, blessings, and repentance. How can Ramadan change us for the better?
Answer
Thank you.
Ramadan is a great and wonderful month that strengthens our compassion, patience, tolerance, communication, togetherness and unity.
Therefore, we shall benefit from every single moment in this month in upgrading and improving ourselves at all levels, especially at the spiritual level. We must write down all bad behavior in which we are living in order to get rid of them in the month of Ramadan.
Let us start this process by avoiding all forms of arrogance, envy, unlawful mixing, hypocrisy, lying, laziness, backwardness and disunity among ourselves.
I am sure and certain that the change is very possible and it must start at individual level.
