Question
Salams. What are the lessons that resistance movements in occupied countries can learn from Gaza war?
Answer
Salam SA,
Thank you for your question.
This is a question that can be properly answered only by persons who have actual experience of participating in a resistance movement.
But as an academic outside the conflict zone, I can say this much: there is no general rule that is applicable against all occupying powers; and adaptable by all movements - i.e. movements of different countries.
And to a great extent the objectives of the resistance movement are important. For instance, in one case the first objective can be to draw the attention of the world to the actual situation in the country. In another case, it may be to inflict maximum injury to the occupying military.
Any operation should take into account its immediate impact on the people. A devilish force like the Zionist army does not distinguish between the combatants and the noncombatants, whereas a Muslim resistance has to do a lot of soul-searching before it embarks on any operation.
In the final analysis it all depends on the vision and motivation of the leaders as to how resistance movement works.
And Allah knows best.

Question
How can the resistance benefit from the victory they had?
Answer
Salam Mukhtar,
Thank you for the question.
Certainly a victory is a good confidence booster and it enables the resistance to renew its resources and to plan better.
But at the same time, too much emphasis on victory may result in overconfidence and it may engender complacence and carelessness, against which the leaders should be very cautious.

Question
As-salamu alikom
What are the factors that led to the victory of Hamas and other resistance groups?
Answer
Salam Mahmoud,
Thank you for your question.
The first and foremost point I think is the fact that Israel's claim itself is based on untruth and injustice: that the land of Palestine is exclusively given to the Children of Israel by God.
The second point is its corollary: that Hamas' struggle is based on the truth that the land they live in is their homeland; i.e. the actual land of their birth.
The third point is that Hamas is not afraid to die; their fight is a last-ditch battle depending only on Allah.
And Allah knows best.

Question
What can we can learn from Gaza War?
Answer
Salam Shuaib,
Thank you for your question.
I think there are few general lessons we can learn from the Gaza War:
1. There is no beast of the land or sea, no dragon, nor any poisonous demon more brutal, more horrible than the two-legged animal called “man”.
2. The so-called “civilization” or “culture” of the so-called “modern”, “sophisticated” man is a sham, a pretence and a mockery.
3. The hall mark of international politics - i.e. both of the West and East - is power-seeking hypocrisy that feeds vulture-like on the dying or the dead.
4. Humanity is at a cross-roads and world Muslims are on trial.
And 5. The End-times are near; insha Allah; Allah Almighty will set everything right.
Allah knows best.

Question
Peace be with you
How do you explain that the Palestinians in Gaza didn't show rebellion against the resistance there?
Answer
Salam Dhakir,
Thank you for your question.
As far as I understand, all the Palestinians in Gaza are actively or passively engaged in resistance. Therefore, to me your question doesn't make sense.
Any one who rebels against the resistance is pro-occupation; and anti-Palestinian. And your question implies that some Palestinians CAN be anti-Palestine, anti-people, especially at a critical time when Israeli air force was bombarding Gaza with white phosphorus! This is a position I am unable to support.
