How are we supposed to understand America's and the west politcal/military manouvers in the past 10 years. First, they positioned themselves in Balkan region after not having access to it Since WWII. Now, they are positioning themselves in the central asian region(another region they did not have access to). Are they trying to secure what Huntington calls "Civilizational Fault Lines" to have an advantage the supposed Clash of Civilizations against the Islamic and Confucious connection.
Answer
There are three significant strategic factors influencing strategic priorities of the great powers in the post-cold war era: i) geopolitical and geostrategic vacuum of power ii) geoeconomic lines of transfer of natural resourses iii) geocultural encounters of different ethnic and religious groups. These three factors are relevant for the balance of power through the rimland of Eurasia. The static int. structure of the cold-war era has been radically changed in the dynamic structure of balance of power in post cold war era. Therefore all great powers started to compete on these strategic lines of geopolitical vacuum, geo-economic transfer and geo-cultural encounter. Balkans, Caucasia, Middle East and Central Asia are the main regions where these strategic confrontations occur. So the great power are trying to secure their strategic interests rather than to prevent the so-called clash of civilizations.

Question
What is Turkey's position in the recent events in Palestine given the fact they have a close military allaince with Israel.
Answer
I think we have to differentiate the official position and public response. There has been a great public reaction against the Israeli aggression in the occupied territories. For the first time in the recent past all political groups from the right to the left, nationalist and Islamist joined in the same front in these reactions. At this moment there is a widespread peaceful protest (one minute darkness for the ultimate light of freedom for Palestine: People are switching off their lights for one minute at 9 PM local time)
From the perspective of official position there is a clear attempt to establish a more balanced policy towards the region. Prime minister of Turkey declared Israeli aggression in Palestine as a new wave of "ethnic cleansing and genocide" and emphasized that Turkey will continue to recognize Yasser Arafat as the only legitimate leader for the Palestine.

Question
What methods that are taught by our religion should muslims adopt to stem the tide of Globalization(capitalist hegemony in the world)?
Answer
First we have to understand the process of globalization. Of course all individuals of traditional civilizations including Muslims should resist against the inhumane character of this hegemonistic structure. If we assume globalization as a one directional process from the center to the periphery, from the Europe and Atlantic to the other parts of the world.
But, if we assume that the process of globalization brings about other dynamic forces which leads to a more pluralistic interaction of different cultures and civilizations, Islamic civilization is the first globalizing experience in the history of humankind. Many different ethnic religious, linguistic and cultural groups coexisted under the umbrella of Islamic civilization throughout the centuries. Even today the only really pluralistic cities within which different cultural traditions live side by side are Islamic cities such as Cairo, Semerkand, Sarajevo, Istanbul, Delhi etc. So the principle of diversity within unity has been historically practiced by Muslims as a reflection of the basic Quranic principle of the "taaruf". Today the inhumane hegemonistic character of this process of capitalistic globalization should be replaced by this humanistic and value-oriented principle of Islam

Question
What future political/economic trends in the international order can you predict in the upcoming century?
Answer
First, a structure of balance of power may emerge in international system replacing the existing uni-lateral hegemony of the US. There is an imbalance between rising and concentrated military power and relatively declining economic share of the US. The share of Asia is increasing international political economy.
The 19th century was a purely European century; 20th century became an Atlantic century. The Asian, African, Pacific, Latin etc. societies will return to the history as new forces of the 21st century.

Question
As Mahbub ul Haq Says that globalization is now a fact, not an option. No country is outside the purview of globalization process. So, in this situation What should the Muslim country do? Can the development of any Muslim alliances for economic cooperation help solve economic crises? It is now clear that the International organizations and Ame-Euro link leave no stone unturned for developing and Muslim countries. However, countries like Saudi Arabia or Kuwait or Egypt seems to become puppet of America. So what could be done? What might be the effective solution?
Answer
We have to concentrate on three basic issues to address the challenge of this dynamic process of globalization:
1) The emergence of a new intellectual prototype to produce alternative ideas based on the intellectual tradition of the Islamic civilization.
2) The establishment of a new economic paradigm which is both efficient and value-oriented in order to produce a new axis of economic power in international political economy.
3) The development of a new political understanding and a mechanism which will promote cooperation and conflict resolution among Muslim countries.
These three preconditions are necessary in order to solve the bi-lateral and multi-lateral problems in the Muslim world.

1)is it possible to create a muslim lobby as the jewish lobby?
2)what can we do to improve muslims countrie's economy?
Answer
Yes it is possible, but we should not forget that Jewish community has a long experience in the sense of culture and organization of lobbying. The number of Muslims in the US is increasing, but penetration of this population to the power elite is still not sufficient. The second generation of Muslim communities in the US should be equipped with the necessary qualifications for this purpose.

Question
Oil-rich Gulf countries are not raising much out of the globvalization issue, and Qatar even hosted a globalization event recently. When all other "Third World" countries are agitating against a Western-dominated global agenda, why are they not?
Answer
Unfortunately the economic welfare of these countries does not allow them to understand the negative effects of the capitalistic globalization such as the unjust distribution of economic resources and the rising polarization between North and South.

Question
What is your opinion on the future of Islam in the West? Will Muslims be more influential in Western society and consequently on the Muslim countries or not?
Answer
First time in the history, Muslims are living in non-Muslim societies as significantly larger minorities. This is a new experience and it will create its own dynamics especially for the second generation of the Muslim immigrants. They will have more opportunity to penetrate the cultural, political and economic power structure of these societies. This will naturally influence Muslim countries as well.

Question
The hegemony of Globalization, incited the U.S. to support dictatorship in Muslim countries.
Many disagree with this statement and say that dictatoship was already established in that countries. How do you evaluate the relationship Globalization-dictatorship in the Muslim countries?
Answer
The existing dictatorships in the Muslim countries are the artificial byproducts of political structures established by western colonialism. The negative impact of the process of the globalization, in fact, supporting these dictatorships is a natural continuity and consequence of this colonial background.
