Question Do you think that the Egyptian-Israeli Peace Treaty could serve as a model for Syria and the Palestinian Authority to follow?
Answer Yes. It could be a model for Syria and the Palestinian Authority. When Syria negotiated with Israel, it requested that it shall regain its occupied lands as Egypt did. Also, Jordan follow Egypt's course when it signed Wadi Araba Peace Treaty with Israel.

However, although the Palestinian Authorities need land-for-peace accords or peace agreement with Israel, Israel still puts obstacles due to Israel's" security considerations".

Question What are the legal obstacles for Egypt in order to re-evaluate the Egyptian-Israeli Peace Treaty?
Answer Why should Egypt reconsider the Egyptian-Israeli Peace Treaty? I think that there is no reason to re-evaluate it.

According to the treaty, Egypt and Israel can change the clauses of the treaty as the two sides agree on it. However, there must be some kind of necessities or reasons for Egypt to re-evaluate the treaty's terms.

Question How do you see the Egyptian military and strategic goals in the light of the Egyptian-Israeli Peace Treaty?
Answer Egypt has so far achieved its strategic goals ever since the beginning of the Egyptian-Israeli Peace Treaty. According to the treaty, the stationed Egyptian troops in Sinai are adequate to defend Egypt during peacetime.

If the relation between Egypt and Israel were to deteriorate, showing a probability of inevitable military confrontation, the treaty would be ineffective and useless, because in this case, Egypt has no options but to take all necessary measures to defend itself.

And, the Egyptian armed forces are well ready to go deep in Sinai in case there is an imminent threat against Egypt's security and Sinai.

There is no permanent high-alert military defense for any country anywhere. There is a certain situation for the armed forces in peace that is different from that during wars.

During peace time, Israel does not have more than 20 percent of its army. Most of the remaining 80 percent is in reserve which could be mobilized only during military confrontations.

Question Israel has violated nearly all treaties it has signed, what makes egyptians so sure that it wont violate this one? It's known that Israel knows no promises...
Answer So far after 30 years, there is no single case of which one can say that Israel intentionally tried to violate the terms of the Egyptian-Israeli Peace Treaty. So far, both parties have respected the treaty, and the past 30 years prove that neither Egypt nor Israel tried to violate the treaty.

Question What can Egypt do in order to cope up with Israel's nuclear arsenal and the Israeli presence in the Red Sea and Africa, especially the Sudan?
Answer Actually, Israel has had the nuclear bomb since 1960, before the June War of 1967 and the Egyptian-Israeli Peace Treaty.

There is international pressure, not only from Israel, that prevents any Arab country from possessing a nuclear bomb, not Israel.

All Western states spearheaded by the United States are keen on preventing any country from having nuclear capabilities other than Israel. The international community is exerting pressure on Iran.

So, the treaty does not have anything to do with the idea of whether Egypt shall have nuclear capabilities or not.

Question Can Egypt force Israel to sign peace treaties with the Arab world?
Answer No country can force the other into signing peace treaties. Peace treaties are the product of a mutual understanding between the two signatory countries.
The US former president, Jimmy Carter, was keen on achieving peace between Egypt and Israel. And, the conditions at that time were suitable for Egypt to achieve peace. Unlike today, the situation is completely difficult for either Syria or the Palestinian Authority to reach peace with Israel.

Many people wrongly think that the treaty itself has resulted in Egypt having cancerous imported vegetable products from Israel and has resulted in warmer cultural relations with Israel, which harms Egypt.

I think that the problem does not relate to the treaty itself. Rather, it is related to some people who take advantage of the treaty to advance their interests. There is a difference between the treaty's clauses and the application of the treaty.

For example, the treaty does not indicate that Egypt shall host Israeli academicians and the like to Cairo or bring about cancerous products.
The treaty just calls for" balanced economic and cultural relations" with Israel.
The problem is not about the treaty, but about those people who rushed into making deals with Israel without considering Egypt's national interests.
