Question
Dear sir,

I hope you are well.
A few questions:

1)Why are the Americans so supportive of Israel? Is it true to say it is because of the strong Jewish lobby with hands in everything or is this an exaggeration in your view? Much has been made also about the unholy alliance between Evangelical christians and Jewish extremists, do you agree?
2)What does the future hold for the average American as the gap between rich and poor continues to escalate? A lot of futuristic Holywood sci-fi movies always depict a rundown, violent, poor America. Crass movie making or a picture of the future?

thanks for your time

Answer
Since the 1967 war, there has been a change from the US Middle East policy associated with President Eisenhower. Later, matters became worse, when the Likud Party replaced the Labour Party. There was a momentary improvement, when Prime Minister Rabin proceeded from the perception that Israel must reach peace agreements with the Arab population of the region; with the assassination of Rabin, the fanatics associated with Netanyahu. Sharon, and even worse, took over.

To appreciate the deeper side of the US official behavior under President George W. Bush, Jr., we must focus on the way in which Vice-President Cheney and Ariel Sharon are using one another, with a Cheney-controlled, not very intelligent President Bush caught, often as a virtual puppet, in between. The motive behind Cheney's support for Sharon is the following.

Cheney represents a faction which is committed to a policy of perpetual, preventive nuclear warfare. He has had this policy since his tenure as Secretary of Defense under Bush I. He has used his (and George Shultz's) control over the crafting of the Bush II administration, to launch that policy which is aimed against Syria, Iran, North Korea, and numerous other targets in addition to Afganistan and Iraq. We are thus dealing with a nuclear-weapons-armed version of the same kind of geopolitical games which spread fascist regims throughout continental Europe during the 1933-1945 interval.

Finally, on the religious fanatics. This is a Synarchist phenomenon, which combines so-called Protestant, Catholics in the Inquisition tradition, and several kinds of factions among Jews, into a force intended to promote the policies represented typically by Cheney's neo-conservatives.

Question
Dear Sir,

I would like to know your opinion with regard to the Israeli-Palestinian struggle.

Answer
As I have underlined this in the issuance of what I have called my "LaRouche Doctrine" for US policy toward Southwest Asia, my view is that there can be no peace in the region until and unless the US government imposes an unflinching demand that a peace between Israel and Palestinians be immediately set into motion along established lines of negotations, as under Rabin. The US has the power to bring this about, since necessary cooperation with such an effort would be found in Europe and elsewhere.

This must include a development policy for the region, since, for example, without new sources of water, and related measures, the economic preconditions for a durable peace would won't exist. If the USA had the will to bring this about, it could be made to happen.

Question
In a political pool where votes are usually governed by interests, how do you feel that your stances, especially regarding the Middle East, can get you anywhere?

Answer
The world is presently gripped by what is perhaps the worst monetary-financial crisis of history, a crisis now in its terminal phase. In this situation, my opponents in the US and some other nations are in fear of my potency, and are seeking to discover new ways of dealing with what they fear are my capabilities. Obviously, my ability to bring about results is hampered by the fact that although I have friends at high levels, I also have powerful enemies who happen to fear my capabilities very much.

In such a circumstance, I must prepare my actions, recognizing that only the onrush of the presenting disintegrating international moentary-financial system gives me the opportunity to override the opposition. The present situation in Iraq, combined with the immediacy of the world monetary-financial crisis, creates precisely the kinds of conditions under which my capability for success is greatly enhanced in a way which will soon surprise most among my opponents.

I am "getting somewhere" now. I have only failed to get above the needed threshold to force the turn I must induce the USA to make.

Question
Dear Sir,

I would like to know your opinion with regard to the Israeli-Palestinian struggle.

Answer
The only principled solution possible would be an agreement modelled upon the 1648 Treaty of Westphalia, which brought to a close thirty years of religious warfare in Europe. I think the support of this from the US is indispensable.

This must be supplemented by practical economic-development actions, and by a sweeping change in US policy toward Southwest Asia, as I have summarized some elements of this in my "LaRouche Doctrine" declaration.

Question
Hello Mr. LaRouche, I hope you are well.

I would like to ask you two questions. One regarding Western economy and the prevalence of poverty, and one on recent political affairs.

regarding the former, I live in the UK, Although being the fifth largest economy in the world, Britain has a poverty problem one would think applicable only to the developing world. According to 'The New Policy Institute', an independent think tank, just fewer than 1 in 4 people in the UK live below the poverty line. This equates to 12.5 million people or 22 per cent of the UK population. Of these, 3.8 million are children, 2.2 million are pensioners and 6.6 million are working-age adults, equivalent to 30 per cent, 23 per cent and 19 per cent of their respective populations.

Across the Atlantic, America has become a society in which people are refused treatment without having medical insurance; where millions live in ghettos reminiscent of the shanty towns in the third world, Africa. It is confusing to think that the superpower of the world are burdened with 35 million people living in poverty.
What is the cause?

Also, we are all too familiar with the inhuman aggression the United States and its "allies" have waged against us. I know that Six years ago a neo-conservative think tank, the ‘Project for the New American Century’ (PNAC) was established. What distinguishes PNAC from other think tanks is the nature of its founding members, America’s vice-president Dick Cheney, Lewis Libby, his chief of staff, Donald Rumsfeld, the defence secretary, Paul Wolfowitz, deputy defence secretary and Zalmay Khalilzad, Bush’s special envoy to Afghanistan.

In 1998 PNAC pleaded with Bill Clinton to use military force against Iraq and remove Saddam from power. They wrote, “We urge you to seize the opportunity, and to enunciate a new strategy that would secure the interests of the U.S. and our friends and allies around the world." Setting aside all the loss of human lives, the torture, torment, anguish etc. that we are facing, knowing this single fact should indeed wake people up, shouldn`t it?

All the Best.

Answer
During the recent four decades, the USA and other nations associated with European civilization have undergone a qualitative change. In the case of the USA itself, the change has been, essential, and transformation of the nation from the world's leading producing society of the post-World War II period into becoming a "post-industrial" predatory parasite echoed imperial Rome's degeneration into an Italy culture of "bread and circuses."

The traditional commitment of the founders of the USA, as expressed in the 1776 Declaration of Independence and Preamble of the Federal Constitution, has been thrown over, as under the slave-holder faction in the US prior to Lincoln's victory. Under these conditions, inside even the USA itself, there has been a post-1977 decline in the conditions of life of the lower 80-percentile of family-income brackets. This trend has been shaped by the 1971-72 change of the IMF from a fixed-exchange-rate to a floating-exchange-rate system. So, more and more, especially since the close of the 1970s, the US has exploited cheap labor abroad for its own farms and industries inside the USA.

We have now reached the terminal phase of a general monetary-financial catastrophe, due to hit with great force at some not precisely predetermined, but early dates.

That, in summation, is the source of the pattern to which you referred.

Question
What do you think of the influence of the Israeli lobby on US policies?

Answer
It is important, but its reputation is exaggerated. It is used as a cover for policies which have nothing specifically Israeli or Jewish about them. Take the case of Sharon as an illustration. Compared to some other fanatics the man is more of a gangster than an ideologue. Sharon is using the Bush administration, and the Bush administration is afraid that unless it submits to Sharon, American Jews will no longer think it necessary to support the Cheney-Bush administration. Also, there is a lot of stealing by powerful US financial interests, in Southwest Asia and elsewhere, which depends upon the complicated fabric of relations between the US neo-conservatives and their kind. After all, stealing can be an ideology.

Question
You must be proposing a program that is particularly (according to you) better than Bush's and Kerry's program. Can you tell us about that a little bit?

Answer
I don't think President Bush actually knows what the implications of his policy are. Kerry is currently a disaster on all leading policy issues. I am not certain I know why Kerry is behaving so badly, but that is the situation.

Actually, there is a lot of support for what I have proposed from among relevant institutions. It is possible, on the basis of the pattern of reactions from relevant circles during the recent week, that we might succeed.

What I have done, with the doctrine which I have published, is to define the situation, invite relevant people from Iraq to respond with their views on my proposal, and then to push my reaction to their response with relevant circles inside the US and elsewhere. The problem is that no political figure of the United States has the combination of knowledge and situation to do what I knew that I must do.

We have, presently, perhaps only a few weeks, and, considering Bremer's performance lately, perhaps only days, to save the situation from slipping into a new phase where remedies become almost impossible. I am acting with that in mind.

Question
Why do you think Arab/Muslim Americans should vote for you?

Answer
No one else running would or could do what I am doing, both for just peace in Southwest Asia and for the lower eighty percentile of the people of he USA. Kerry's failure to perform on all crucial issues places unique responsibilities on me. Also, on the economic issues posed by presently onrushing collapse of the present monetary-financial system, I am in fact the only person qualified for the job: not becauseI am that good, but because the alternatives are impossible.

Question
What is the "LaRouche Doctrine"?

Answer
It is a document, issued by my campaign for the Democratic Presidential nomination, which throws over the table discussions on the subjects of the Iraq war and related matters, by specifying not only the urgency of a US commitment to abandon a forceful occuption of Iraq, but to create a new US doctrine for all of Southwest Asia, a new doctrine which will create the framework for the immediate launching of a reconstruction of Iraq under the provisions of the doctrine which I have proposed.

It is also a means by which I am rallying circles of persons of relevance known to me to assist, as experts in such policy matters, who would be prepared to assist in the measures needed. I have good reason for (admittedly) qualified optimism about this possibility.

Question
Peace be unto you, and may God grant you victory in your endevours,

As a Chilean, whos family was attacked and persecuted for being liberals and socialist sympathisers, and most of all supporters of our democractic tradition; I am immensely pleased to hear you were an oppenant of the serpantile Kissenger, who helped feed the beat of tyranny and shame, that was placed over my country for seventeen years. I'd like to ask you (as a future voter in the next elections) how you feel you can respond to the needs and sentiments of the Moslem community, and in particular, the subjects of Palestine, and Guantánamo Bay, which are chief areas of concern as atrocities are comited publically and in private ona dialy bases int hese areas, where justice seems to hold no reign over. Gracias y buena suerte.

Thank you. I am pleased to know you.

Question
Do you think the war on Iraq was justified? And now that the war has been already waged and the country is under US occupation, what do you think US policy in Iraq should be?

Answer
It was not justified in any sense or degree. It is was an action taken in violation of the Constitution and related US law concerning use of US executive war powers, an action taken by means of a degree of fraud which, under US law, is not technically treason, but is tantamount to treason in its degree of criminality.

I must get our troops out now, and turn the country over to the relevant institutions of that nation. However, we do have responsibility, to take such action, with the agreement of the Iraqi institutions, to provide technical assistance in assuring that our departure leaves the country fully capable of its own defense and management of its affairs. Those agreements must be made following our unconditional commitment to cease the present occupation. Any different approach would fail, for obvious reasons.

Question
What is the role of Northern Africa and Egypt in your doctrine for Southwestern Asia?

Answer
I listed Egypt as a key sponsoring nation for bringing relevant other nations, not named explicitly by me, into a system of agreements consistent with the intention proposed as my doctrine. Obviously, I include all Arab nations across northern Africa as implicitly desired partners in whatever results. The problem I faced was simply to define a framework in which the Southwest Asia interest group would be defined in terms of key nations to which the others would turn along well-known lines of collaboration.
