Validating the Message of Islam
At this point the question naturally arises, how does one know that the message taught by Muhammad is true? How do we know that it came from God?
Throughout the Qur'an, God teaches us things that are verified by our own observations and experiences. Whether we approach the question of validation as a skeptic or with enthusiasm, the truth of what God teaches us stands out clear from any falsehood. We recognize the truth when we hear it because it is validated by the realities of life, our personal observations. The Qur'an, the Muslim Holy Book is validated by the scriptures of the Bible and the Torah.
Accepting Islam, or any religion is a matter of personal and individual choice. Choice was given to humankind by God as a right that no one can take away from us. To choose one's faith, or to choose not to believe in God at all, is a personal and individual choice. Yet, all choices have consequences, which are the results of our actions. Our actions are based on our beliefs. Those who choose Islam as their faith, choose to believe in One God. They accept that Muhammad (PBUH) is a prophet of God and that his teachings are true and from God only. They accept to live their lives according to these truths.
The Holy Qur'an verses 135-137 says:
They say become Jews or Christians if you would be guided to salvation. Say thou (Apostle Muhammad) Nay, I would rather be of the religion of Abraham the true, and he joined not Gods with God. Say ye (prophet Muhammad): "We believe in Allah (SWT), and the revelation given to us, and to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, and the tribes, and that given to Moses, and Jesus, and that given to all prophets from their Lord: We make no difference between one and another of them, and we submit to Allah(SWT).
