Egyptian-Irish Computer Entrepreneur Sees Wealth Soar DUBLIN, Dec 6 (AFP) - An Egyptian-Irish entrepreneur who set up a computer company with a loan from his parents 11 years ago saw the value of his shareholding soar by about 75 million punts (95 million euros) Monday. The shares in Horizon Technology group, which was listed on the London and Dublin stock exchanges for the first time, soared from 1.64 to 4.43 euros within hours. American-educated Samir Naji, 37, who was born in the south of Ireland to an Egyptian father and an Irish mother, set up the company in 1988 with a 40,000 punt (51,000 euro) loan from his parents. The company was started to distribute Apple computers but is now also involved in IT training and the Internet.
Naji owned 67 percent before the listing but that has been diluted to 58.7 percent, worth about 120 million punts (152 million euros).
