The Palm VII™ Connected Organizer
In the ranks of hand-held devices that have stormed personal technology is the wide variety of Palm Pilot organizers. They range from having Microsoft applications to Internet services, with everything imaginable in between. Most models on the market either offer the Microsoft package or the Internet service, with only a few that offer both. The Palm VII Connected Organizer is one of those devices that does offer both.
With the same device, you can organize your personal and business materials and check your e-mail. Among the other features that this device offers is:

- Instant access to your calendar, address book, to-do list, memo pad, e-mail and expenses.
- Applications from other companies can be used on the Palm VII.
The obvious benefit of this device is that it is portable, making it very easy to take it with you on business trips, lunch/dinner engagements, on the road, etc. Not only that, but the Palm VII can access important information from the Internet like stock quotes, news items and more. You can also send and receive quick text messages to and from anyone with an e-mail address.
Many users of the Palm VII say that the computing of the 8-kilobyte-per-second network is too narrow, coverage is too spotty and the price is too high ($450-$500). Palm computing's Palm.Net service uses BellSouth's Mobitext wireless network, available in 260 major U.S. cities - but not everywhere. Besides the cost of the hardware, Palm will charge $9 per month for basic Palm.Net service for 50KB of data, or about 150 screens of information. Palm's premium service costs $24.99 per month for 150KB of data. Additional data costs 30 cents per kilobyte.
