NASA Loses Satellite As Scientists Mourn Its Destruction
NASA has lost yet another piece of its space program with the destruction of a satellite that had previously been orbiting the earth for over 9 years. The satellite, properly known as the Compton Gamma Ray Observatory, was deliberately slammed into the atmosphere this past Sunday where it broke up and fell in a shower of hot metal into a remote stretch of the Pacific Ocean.

Humankind, Nature And Technology Theme For Expo 2000
Expo 2000, this year's first major festival, is being hosted by the German city of Hanover and features the theme of Humankind, Nature and Technology. The sponsors of the festival hope to attract a surplus of 40,000 visitors with its grandiose theme. They hope to illustrate how the future of technology can be harnessed in order to help the natural world.
