Controlling the Internet: Myth or Reality?
The question remains how we can benefit from the positive sides of the information technology and protect our children from the dangers of the Internet. Children and adolescents seem to be the segments of society most vulnerable to the harm and threat posed by the Internet. Children in particular are in danger of exposure to inappropriate material on a global scope. The question that has been raised continuously is whether the Internet can be controlled and restrictions imposed on the freedom of disseminating information over the Internet.

Government Versusthe Gun Last week the gun industry faced its biggest threat. The Clinton administration and the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) have announced that they will join in the class-action suit against the industry. That industry, unlike the much wealthier tobacco industry, cannot afford the kind of huge lawsuit this promises to become. Although the government has not officially joined the lawsuit yet, it hopes to pressure the industry through the threat of government involvement.
