Women 2000: Where Are We Now?

The twenty-third special session of the United Nations' General Assembly concluded on June 9. The preceding week focused on the needs and achievements of women all over the world. Five years after Beijing, governments and non-governmental organizations from all over the world reported on their current situation and achievements. Also discussed was what remains to be done.


Home Alone
It's almost 5:30pm. I'm rushing out of the office, late again. There's no deadline or specific rush. No one will really even notice if I am a few minutes late into the house. "But the kids will be alone," I always tell my husband.
