The presence of permanent foreign
media correspondents has reached the highest levels since the Islamic
Revolution, with 32 foreign journalists and another 44 Iranians working
with foreign media outlets – double the number before President Mohamad
Khatami came to power in 1997.
The Virtue Party, its votes blocking a major initiative
