RIYADH, Nov 25 (AFP) - A total of 318 people, mostly south Asians, have converted to Islam in the Saudi capital Riyadh over the last two months, the Al-Riyadh newspaper reported Thursday.
Of those who converted, 192 were Christians, 23 were Hindus and 16 were Buddhists. Filipinos made up the bulk of the converts, followed by Sri Lankans and Indians.
Saudi Arabia is home to two of the three holiest sites in Islam: Mecca and Medina. The third is Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem.
