Hamas Will Not Move Political Headquarters To Palestine
Now that it has been expelled from Jordan, Hamas rejects the idea of moving its political leadership to Palestine, according to spokesman Ibrahim Ghoshe. Ghoshe and three other Hamas leaders - all Jordanian citizens - were kicked out of Jordan earlier this week. Palestinian Authority Telecommunications Minister Imad Falouji, who is a former Hamas leader, invited the Hamas leaders to set up offices in the PA-controlled Gaza Strip.

Russians Try Out Their New Weapons On Muslims Of Chechnya
Chechen forces announced that thousand of Muslim fighters have arrived from all over the Caucasian area to help their brethren in the war against Russia, and especially in defense of the capital, Grozny. The reports coincided with stories in the Russian press that the Russian Army is using all sorts of new weapons against the Chechens. In a few days, three K-50 attack helicopters, known as Black Sharks, will be deployed.

Indonesian President Abdurrahman Wahid has secured a 100-day moratorium on violence in the province of Aceh from a faction of the Free Aceh Movement (GAM) fighters. Wahid has launched an initiative to find peace in Aceh. "It is confirmed that the Indonesian government has agreed to hold a referendum in Aceh, but it is limited to a vote on whether to adopt Islamic law in the province," Minister of Defense Juwono Sudarsono said.
