Imam Jamil Abdullah Al-Amin was arrested in Alabama on Monday after a nation-wide manhunt conducted by the FBI and state agents that started on Thursday, after Imam Al-Amin was accused of shooting a sheriff’s deputy in Atlanta.
The perpetrator of one of the ugliest crimes in Pakistan's 53-year old history was found guilty by a Lahore court last Thursday. Javed Iqbal was found guilty of sexually abusing, murdering and mutilating 100 children, and he was sentenced to be strangled, cut into pieces and soaked in acid, “as he did with his victims,” the judge said.
Unidentified gunmen massacred 36 Sikhs in Kashmir just hours before U.S. President Bill Clinton kicked off a five-day state visit to India on Tuesday. National Security Advisor Brajesh Mishra said India had proof that Monday night's massacre was staged by two Pakistan-based Muslim groups – the Lashkar-e-Toiba and Hizbul Mujahedeen.
