Candidates Play One-On-One
To See Who Will Represent
The Democratic Party

In the Democratic race, Al Gore and Bill Bradley are two charismatically challenged candidates that have many similarities. For example, both candidates presented a more activist and expensive role in the White House than does the current President, Bill Clinton. Also, they both come off as reformers. However, when one looks underneath the surface, it is easy to see that they have some major differences as well. On many fronts, Bradley comes off in a more traditional approach to reform that does Al Gore. The two Democratic candidates have to do a very good job of selling their philosophies to the American public.

The leader of the Islamic Jihad Movement in Liberia, Lartin Konneh was arrested. Konneh is a member of the Mandingo ethnic group and the opposition Reformation Alliance Party. Konneh is protesting the recent attacks on Muslims and the burning of three mosques in Voinjama, Lofa County and Nimba Counties. These attacks, which Lartin Konneh partly blamed on government inaction, ruffled the feathers of state authorities and called on all Muslim public officials to resign with immediate effect.
