PARIS, April 10 (AFP) - Pakistan's military ruler General Pervez Musharraf said he planned to meet Taliban leaders soon to tackle the question of terrorists operating from inside Afghanistan. "I intend to go to Afghanistan as soon as possible to address the issues of peace in the country and any terrorists operating from inside Afghanistan ... with the Taliban leadership," said Musharraf after a meeting with French Foreign Minister, Hubert Vedrine. "We know who they are. (Osama) Bin Ladin has become such a sensitive issue that it is not very easy to address. But one would certainly like to address this issue with the Taliban," the general added on a brief stopover in France before traveling to Cuba for a meeting of G77 countries. Bin Ladin, an Islamist, is wanted by the U.S. in connection with terrorist attacks on U.S. embassies in Africa. He is believed to be hiding out in Afghanistan. Vedrine said he had expressed France's concern over the situation in Afghanistan and asked if the general, who seized power in a bloodless coup last October, could do anything to influence the situation. Musharraf also discussed his country's difficult transition to democracy and relations with India over the disputed territory of Kashmir. Musharraf is due to return to Pakistan before the end of April after visits to Italy, Egypt and Libya.
